24.01.2022 And the fathers...

23.01.2022 When people use the term normal birth ideology and then follow this with stories highly intervened in births, I think firstly, there was nothing ‘normal’ (as in... physiological) about that and secondly, do we discuss menstrual ideology or menopause ideology? Let’s make birth safer and let’s not marginalise any birth, but I for one won’t tolerate a malicious, misogynistic misrepresentation of one of the oldest physiological functions on earth #ENOUGH See more

16.01.2022 I’ve birthed big babies... first was 9.5 lbs fourth was 10 lb 14. I had the 2,3,4 at home. I chose my GP to be one that supported me in waiting for babe to be born... all my babies were ‘late’. Whatever ‘late’ is???? Anyone had a larger baby? Had pressure to induce because of predicted size?

15.01.2022 A beautiful message from a very courageous and special mama - Harmeen ... Thankyou for your beautiful words and the privilege of offering you support

13.01.2022 How incredibly accurate this statement is - and how relevant to birthing women and families. "Medicine, in keeping with its status in society, always had a paternalistic culture. Doctors listened to patients’ concerns, examined them, ordered laboratory investigations, diagnosed disease, prescribed medication and prognosticated about course and outcome. While they did explain the issues to their patients, medical perspectives and opinions guided their decisions. Patients were expected to follow their advice. The prevalent paternalistic culture within the medical profession often dismissed patient perspectives and did not take kindly to objections or different points of view." K. S.
