03.01.2022 We Ride Australia recently announced the establishment of Parliamentary Friends of Cycling. This is the first time something like this has been achieved for cycling in Federal Parliament and is the result of over a decade of work by WRA. This is a key non-partisan platform where MPs can meet to learn more about bicycle riding and active transport issues, and is something that is very important for all pro-cycling positions and advocacy nationally. This knowledge filters back... to their electorates, and is used to build support across Parliament for cycling initiatives. Parliamentary Friends of Cycling was very strongly supported by MPs and Senators when established, showing a high level of interest in Parliament about the benefits riding bicycles brings to all Australians. WRA has been strongly supported by the bike industry for over two decades, and they now all have a stake in the success of the work WRA does nationally to make Australia a better place to ride a bike.
