25.01.2022 Bogged? In our Beach travels we often come across people in sticky situations, like this couple who managed to get stuck towing a van along the bombing rage beach. Depending on the situation, we offer these people a recovery or a lesson in how to get out. If you find yourself stuck on the beach try give us a call for a on the spot 4WD lesson. We can't guarantee to be available at short notice, but if we are able, we will come out with recovery gear. Our aim will be not only... get you out, but also teach you how to get yourself out and improve your 4WD abilities. Keep in mind we won't take undue risk in traveling dangerous beach conditions where vehicles could be lost to the sea and we don't have heavy duty pulling power to extract a car stuck in the ocean. 15.01.2022 A few tips on tailor fishing.

15.01.2022 Spring tailor have certainly been featuring in our recent captures, lots on lures. A number of customers have bested their PB's, several fish this month over 60 on lures. November is one of our most productive times of the year, though seasonal sargassum weed can be a problem when the afternoon breeze blows it into shore. If you are up for an early start I recommend a morning fish with us. We also see some great afternoons with light winds, this time of year. So pick a good weather window or ask us if unsure. We are always happy to advise on the best slot to choose for the highest chances of a great fishing day. 11.01.2022 A great way to tie the FG knot in real fishing conditions. I have been using this method for only a few weeks and greatly impressed with how easy it is to tie a good quality leader quickly up the beach in windy or low light conditions.

There are plenty of activities to do in Lancelin, sand dunes, sand boarding, quad bike tours, fishing off the jetty and local beaches or the sheltered bays waters. 10.01.2022 Who lets their partner drive their truck? Myself and Leanne have operated in remote areas of the state, where we can't rely on anyone else helping us out. Leanne always gets to drive so she is well practiced in case something does go wrong and has to in an emergency be able to get the truck out. If you're partner isn't confident in the 4bee you really should get her used to regular driving through some of the more technical bits. We went for a drive today to see what the be...ach is like after the big swell the past few days. Lots of weed not looking great, we found one spot that should fish OK, should start to rapidly improve over the weekend but it will take some looking to find a weed free spot. 09.01.2022 I hope everyone is coping well in the difficult times. I did have to cancel some tours due to having some mild flu like symptoms, back to normal now. Things are changing quickly so this may change. We will do tours keeping social distances in the open air. You or your group must be well and have your own transport to the fishing location. (We can fish areas 2WD accessible). Sorry for the time being, we think its best not to to coupe up groups of people in the confines of our... 4WD. 4WD lessons to drive in soft sand and tag along 4WD tours are OK. We also are finalizing a new activity, kayak fishing, squiding etc, details to follow. These will be for one person only and allow outdoor seating 4m apart. Keep well and look after our elderly and more vulnerable people. Offer to do some shopping for a neighbor or share some of the supplies in short demand at the moment till the stores catch up from the hording.

06.01.2022 Star fish this month has to be 9 year old Corban's 51cm tailor on a popper. The next several months are our best time fishing Lano's beaches for tailor and a great time to be targeting them on lure. It's still early in the season but fish numbers are already good and there has been some great windows in the weather to have some fun. Beaches have started to get wider but are still very soft in the newly deposited sand, some of our customers have been combining fishing and learning to drive in the soft sand in the one day. 05.01.2022 Don't get your self in this situation unless you know how to get your self back out. During our beach fishing tours we can teach you how to drive on soft sand and how to get your self out of a sticky situation..... More importantly how to understand your limits and avoid a bogging. Alternatively we also offer a half day on the sand driving where you can tag along in your 4WD and do some beach and dune driving under our tuition and escort. We do carry a range of recovery equipment and had more options to use than the Max trax, so this was a minor delay and relatively easy out.

04.01.2022 LOCAL MAN STUMBLES UPON $70,000 OF WHALE WASTE Peter Fullarton runs Tailored Treks, a local beach fishing business and recently he found what he initially thou...ght was a 2kg rock on Lancelin beach at the north end of town. He bent over to inspect the "rock" and realised it wasn't a rock, straight away picking it as ambergris. Ambergris is a solid, waxy, flammable substance produced in the digestive system of sperm whales. It is sometimes found washed up on beaches and is highly prized by the perfume industry where it is used in the production of scents. Peter took his"prize" home and thought he had come into some serious money. It is complicated by the CITES convention. CITES themselves say ambergris is not part of a whale or covered by the convention. Federal legislation defines ambergris as part of a whale, so legal to possess, but illegal to export. explains Peter. Part of the federal legislation required me to notify state authorities. WA legislation makes it illegal to possess part of a whale, though is very vague as to what is part of a whale, my interpretation was ambergris is not. However the wildlife authorities interpret the act very loosely and threatened me they're coming for me if I don't dispose of it. Considering I can't export it I was not willing to be their test case in a long court battle. In many other countries he could have laid claim to it and sold it to anyone and for tens of thousands of dollars. Instead, this 1.5kg lump of ambergris (it's reduced in weight after drying out) may well end up being on display in the new WA museum, or the government could trade or sell it to whomever they choose as they aren't covered by the same rules as the finder.

03.01.2022 Even though some navigators show a short cut to the Pinacles, the Lancelin sand dunes are not a short cut to get there. As these tourists from Malaysia, found out today. I was going to offer one of our lessons in how to drive on soft sand. But after having already fallen off one ridge and getting bellied on the next one they were too traumatized to drive any further, so we drove their car back to the main car park for them. We can teach you how to drive on soft sand and how to get your self out of a sticky situation..... More importantly how to understand your limits and avoid a bogging. 01.01.2022 Hooray the roads are opening Social distancing is still in place, though there are provisions for how we should operate passenger transport from the department of transport. So long as you are well we can take you fishing. Looking forward to seeing some customers again, there has been plenty of tailor about of late. Stacks of herring and whiting around too and always a chance of good mulloway or pink snapper at this time of year. We can also start our new activity, kayak fishing though do keep the weather in mind. Winter is almost upon us so swell can be up at times. Our safety management plan only lets us operate when safe to do so. It is a great time to be fishing in the bay water becomes very clean and a wide range of species are on offer. 01.01.2022 Love it when a plan comes together... Every year i like to set a few goals to challenge my fishing. This morning I ticked off on one, mully on a hard body lure ...off the sand. I usually chase them on soft plastics. Thinking the rattle will help as it does with tailor in the surf I chose a Xwrap long cast in ghost. thanks to a great northern beer voucher only cost $13 from Brooke Weir at BCF Butler. Money well spent as it came up with the goods on my second cast Another goal is a 60cm tailor on a hardbody.... missed that by a bee's d***. #rapalalures #greatnorthernbeer
