22.01.2022 This weeks orders. A bit of a variety... Look at that perfect "fourteen" topper by Marika Heyl Hoffmann. And I have not mentioned this before, but for most of this term I have had the very skilled Lundi Koen as my extra set of hands in the kitchen. Lundi had her own cake business for a while, so her expertise and help has been invaluable to me these past few weeks.

22.01.2022 Today I am finishing off my last order, which also happens to be a wedding cake. Oh my goodness - when I pulled that carrot cake out of the oven, it smelled amazing! I am going to miss the constant smell of freshly baked cakes in my house. But exciting times ahead. By now many of you will know of my new venture Knowledge Insight Perth - if you haven't already, head over there and have a look. But I also have some exciting news for Trendy Cakes. I will be re-launching my website next week. You might be wondering why if I am not going to be taking orders... Well, you will just have to wait and see :-) Keep an eye out for my surprise next week!!

20.01.2022 Thank you for all the messages of support, concern (and curiosity). Nothing specific happened, i just want to take some time to spend with my family and to decide what i want to do with my future... Maybe I'll take up the cakes again in 3 months, maybe I will do something else cake related, maybe I will end up doing something completely different - i don't know yet. In the meantime I still have quite a few orders (including 3 wedding cakes) lined up, so keep an eye out for photos

18.01.2022 So Excited! First 3 recipe booklets up and ready to go. The Cookie E-book is the perfect place to start if you want something easy and quick. It's also great to do with the kids. The Choc cupcake recipe is also pretty straight forward and good if you are just starting out on your baking journey.... I only recommend the mud cake recipe for people who are comfortable with baking as it's a bit more advanced :-)

But it was also sobering to think of and remember our friends and family members who have fought and is fighting the Big C... 08.01.2022 First 2 cakes for the weekend have left the Trendy Cakes kitchen. This is a very challenging couple of days - apart from the amount of work I had to get through, this weather is making cake life very hard!! The humidity does not work with cakes...

08.01.2022 So, this has been a long time coming, and it is not a decision I have taken lightly. But I have decided to stop taking new orders until further notice. I will finish off all the orders that have been placed before today and I will give my all for each one of those orders, but until further notice I will not be taking on any new customers / orders Painted macarons exempted though - we are looking forward to all the mother's day orders that have been placed and that are still coming :-) Thank you for all the love and support over the past 5 years, I never dreamt I would come this far, so you are all very much appreciated.

After discovering ruby chocolate, I played around with it and tried different flavour combinations. I love this mud cake with some fresh mixed berries on top, it is very sophisticated and something new to add to your "favourite recipes collection".
