Reflecting on the past 12 months, we’ve noticed a material increase in the number of clients willing to work with their professional advisor(s) on remote basis, with little to zero expected face to face contact. We put it down to increased levels of trust and awareness of cloud-based technology, as well as various platforms which make it easy for clients to connect with the RIGHT adviser.... Curious to hear what portion of your clients you work with remotely? (with remotely being defined as (i) client located at least 100kms from your physical location; and (ii) zero expected face to face contact throughout the course of the engagement). There are great examples of people who were inside large accounting firms, and technology enabled them to leave and set up their own smaller accounting firms, Rather than fewer accounting firms, there may be a significant number of smaller accounting firms. It won’t be monopolised by large firms, it’ll be hundreds of thousands of firms that couldn’t have existed without technology enabling them. There are lots of two-, three-,... five-, 10- person accounting firms existing today that wouldn’t have existed 10 years ago.
