24.01.2022 Royal Life Saving data shows that between 1st July 2002 and 30 June 2018, 25 people drowned in portable swimming pools in Australia. 80% of these were children ...under the age of five. Children at most risk of drowning in portable pools are aged between one and two years. In almost all of these cases, there was a lapse or lack of supervision when the child drowned. 07.01.2022 Last summer, there were 46 drowning deaths in New South Wales. Men accounted for almost 80 per cent of last summer’s fatalities, with the 45-54 age group at mos...t risk. We love our beaches in the Eastern Suburbs but we need to take water safety seriously if we are to keep ourselves and each others safe. Make sure this summer you do these 5 things and stay safe: Learn to swim it’s a skill for life!! Avoid drugs and alcohol Always wear a life jacket when on a water craft Know your limitations; and Keep watch on your family and friends Thanks to Royal Life Saving Society - Australia and James Magnussen Official for their support for this great cause. 05.01.2022 Dear Trevally Swim School Parents On Sunday March 22nd our Prime Minister, Mr Scott Morrison announced that all indoor sports centres are to be closed by Monday 23rd March 2020 at 12:00PM due to the outbreak of the coronavirus. On contacting the Coronavirus Hotline asking for clarification, they confirmed that swim schools were part of the closure.... Due to the directive by the Australian Government, Trevally Swim School will cease trading as of Monday 23rd 9:30AM until it is safe for all families to return. All children's lesson days and times will remain in effect when we we open again. I will continue to keep all families informed as to when we are to open again via email and the Trevally Swim School Facebook page.
