24.01.2022 A house I designed for a professional couple and their young family. A sloping site and a long cross-ventilated design. 19.01.2022 This is a design project we are currently working on for a rural area near Mackay. The design uses good flow-through ventilation and opens up to the beautiful views to the north. 17.01.2022 Over the last few months with all the various natural events, bushfires, floods, possible cyclones, you would be forgiven for forgetting how these have all occurred before and are a part of living in the best country in the world! If you are thinking of renovating or building, consider how the design process may limit the impact of these events on your buildings and your lives. We can't prevent these events from occurring, however, thought put into the design process will help protect your family and you from the worst of the effects with regard to your buildings. 16.01.2022 This is a project for Matt ... re-imagining his early 80s high-set house. This was a raise and enclose the ground floor, add stairwell and entry, renovate and re-design the first floor and add a fly-over deck. These early 80s high-sets are great to work with, with their hardwood frames and beautiful hardwood floors.

13.01.2022 I am posting some designs from the last years of projects. These houses are all built in Mackay and other regions and they have all been fun to design!

12.01.2022 Just a note from our office to say that our family are well and practising sensible hygiene practises. We are still holding the meetings required with clients after checking that they are not ill, and doing most communications via email. Our office is well ventilated and surfaces cleaned regularly. The builders that I have spoken with are relatively confident of their chain of supply and will continue to build unless ill. We are completing design projects and starting new ones, so that people can continue to plan or start their renovations/extensions and new builds. This is a positive for our community and our future when Mackay and Australia will roar back into action! We hope that all are well and that we can work together to support each other!

10.01.2022 Another weekend working on design projects...just a very busy time. No sign of that recession in Mackay?

10.01.2022 I was talking with a person who was looking at using our design services recently and they remarked that I designed mainly up-market, larger houses. I explained the truth is that for many years we have also designed decks, small renos, bedroom extensions,etc. We work with our clients closely no matter the size of their project. This has been to my advantage because this approach has given me a large design skill set across the building design industry.

10.01.2022 This is a modern Queenslander that we recently finished designing. It is beautifully located beside one of our northern national park beaches with national park and ocean views. The house features high ceilings, plenty of windows and doors providing excellent cross-ventilation, and surrounding decks which shade and protect the house. 07.01.2022 Well....I've been working long days at the designing desk this week, so lucky to have a bunch of good design projects ahead! This is a great time for people to get design projects started, take all the time necessary to get the finished product just right...ready to start the approval and building process when this virus blows over. This is another project to work on while we are all confined to our homes! But now it is time to sit back with my wife and drink red wine and eat cheese! Have a great Friday evening friends!

02.01.2022 Congratulations to Bunnings for standing against sales of illegally sourced Australian timber in their stores. Still much to do to remove timber products that come from endangered species or result in destroying enviornments...little steps for our childrens' world.
