14.01.2022 GREEN BREAKS THROUGH Terry Green won tonight's super sedan feature race but his son Tristan Green reigned supreme in the Bill Gibbings Memorial. With only a sm...all car count in this year's blue ribbon event, there was four drivers that entered the final with hopes of winning the memorial as the highest point scorer on the night. Tristan Green held a seven-point advantage over Adyme Harvey heading into the 15-lap final. Harvey looked lively at the jump of the final but a yellow light immediately was displayed and in that time a problem with his car emerged. With Harvey forced to retire, Terry Green took control of the race at the complete restart and fired to the lead, leaving Adam Campbell and Tristan Green to battle it out for the minor placings. After a terrific battle, Campbell was able to get past Tristan Green on the low line eventually but Terry Green had opened up a sizable advantage. Terry Green could not be reeled in as he coasted to an impressive feature race win, crossing the line 5.787 seconds ahead of Campbell. Although the win wasn't enough to lift the veteran to the top of the points standings it will be a memorable win nonetheless. Third place in the feature race was enough for Tristan Green to finish on top of the Bill Gibbings Memorial points standings, his tally of 104 handing him a first triumph. Campbell finished second on 91 points and Terry Green was third on 87. Earlier Kevin Bell won the opening heat race before sustaining heavy damage in heat 2 after an incident with Terry Green, in which Green was disqualified.
