24.01.2022 Tommorrow ASTC host an All Abilities triathlon at Acacia Hill School for under 12's with a disability to swim, bike and run. The event in previous years has more volunteers than participants... everyone helping those 15 kids achieve their first finish line! We would like to recognise the amazing work the clubs committee do to provide this for the Alice Springs community. Anyone who wants to give their U12 child the opportunity to try triathlon can join in. Rego link here ... https://www.registernow.com.au/secure/Register.aspx?E=41588 See more
24.01.2022 It’s been a rollercoaster of a year for our triathlon family with plenty of amazing highs and gut-wrenching lows, so we thought we would take a moment to shin...e a light on 3 of our favourite moments of 2020. But truly, our favourite moment of 2020 has to be this one. After months of no racing, virtual training sessions and dry-land swimming sets , there was finally a light at the end of the tunnel, restrictions began to relax and our community started to come back to life . Heralded by the Darwin Triathlon Club with the first club race since the pandemic began, our northern friends led the return to triathlon as training and racing slowly came back over the following weeks and months across Australia. 2020 was a season like no other. We are so proud of the way the community banded together to support each other through some of the most challenging times our sport has faced. And with that we say Bring on 2021!

21.01.2022 Unofficial result for Archie Pratt 9th overall and 5th for the wide bay region. Which means he has won a place to represent wide bay in the state titles next February!
21.01.2022 Doing us proud! 3 days of racing Both working hard & showing alot of heart. Amie Lawton got a gold for the JW15 team pursuit and Silver for the team sprint today. Archie Pratt had some very good competition in the JM17 events and managed to stay around the middle of the pack in most races. He took a second off his best flying 200 time. ... Fatigue was starting to set in by the end of day three, but they both continued to do their best. A stack of racing experience gained! Well done!
19.01.2022 In 2017 the concept to do a progressive triathlon was pitched by DTC life member Robyn Stanley. Unfortunately she never made it to see an event as she passed away December 2017. Former club President Luke Fronsko said the committee wanted an activity that spanned a weekend and it was a twist on the "progressive dinner" theme. The idea was to have a weekend of triathlon that lasted more than a day with the suspense building till the run leg. Then everyone could get together ha...ve a beer after and relax. Clare Labowitch Race Directed the first 3. Craig Rachow did a stellar job looking after it for her in 2020 untill she gets back from the USA. It takes volunteers 3 days of course marking, marshaling, ice/drinks, rego, and all round organisation. Gary Wall is behind 4 years of 3 consecutive days of timing & spreadsheets. Special Kudos to them for putting their hand up for that! Competitor numbers: 2017 - 32 M - J.Hamilton / F - P.Featherston 2018 - 76 M - M.King / F - P.Featherston 2019 - 108 M - C.Davis / F - R.McLean 2020 - 130 M - J.Hamilton / F - R.Mclean The 2017 and 2018 races were members only, in 2019 the DTC committee decided to open it up to come & try non members to attract others from the community who swim, cycle or run to join in the weekend of events. Special mention to these 12 legends that have been apart of all 4 events. Jason Hamilton, Matt King, Chris Monahan, John Thyne, Brian Gallagher, Andrew Jewell, Craig Rachow, Rena Walker, Jo Duncan, Dave Hancock, Gary Wall, Glen Grant. Current DTC President Patch Clapp - "The numbers and enthusiasm for the progressive triathlon at this time of year show what an amazing triathlon and supportive community we have in Darwin! It’s brilliant that we can have another event that pulls together the regular faces of the Darwin Tri Club and those who have been interested in trying it out, (but in a bit of a different way to usual). It was great that this year we could build upon the success and numbers of previous years, thanks to Jacana Energys support, and channel all our efforts into making each leg the best experience possible." It's social, it's fun, and you have a 2020 medal! Thanks for being apart of the events success over the last 4 years.

06.01.2022 You all know this guy - a super dedicated and committed 14 year old. He is competing in the Huntingdale kids Super Saturday event being held as part of the Hervey Bay 100. The event is 500/15/4 with an ocean swim. It’s being held on the esplanade at Hervey Bay Saturday 14th November. He will be competing for a place on the Wide Bay Schools rep side for the State titles being held February 2021. It’s also his first opportunity competing outside of Darwin against lots of peop...le his own age group! so it will be interesting to see how he stacks up! He has trained very hard and smart under the guidance of TNT performance coach Tim Ellison and swim coach Rob Portelli. The temperature there has been pretty cool, Tim has suggested rugging up with lots of extra clothing pre race to get nice and warm. Let's give him a good ol Territory backing! Best of luck Archie Pratt!
02.01.2022 Why join a Tri Club ? Hear it from first timer Bronwyn Humphrey's on her first ever triathlon in November. "As a constantly injured runner, I decided to turn to cross training and get into triathlon. Moving interstate has been quite daunting to say the least and despite never having done a triathlon before and being very nervous about all the extra technical elements, Triathlon Australia and Darwin Triathlon Club were amazingly welcoming, supportive, kind, passionate and fun...! I can't wait for the next event!" Moving from Melbourne to live in Katherine, she'll get up to race as often as she can.
01.01.2022 Teams event underway in Alice Springs! 3 people complete a 750m swim / 20km bike / 5km. A fun event & a change from competing individually. There are prize give-aways for best dress ups! #teamspirit #triathlon
