18.01.2022 In times like these we need yoga more than ever! Doing your regular yoga practise and keeping with your regular routine as much as possible will help you to stay grounded amidst the chaos and uncertainty going on in the outside world. . We are reminded that most of the conditions of our lives are impermanent and largely out of our control. This can trigger a lot of fear and anxiety, but it can also be a reminder to us to take the journey inwards to our innermost self, which... is changeless, untouchable by any of the drama and is forever. . The more we can connect with this inner space through our yoga practise on the mat, the better we will cope through this time and the more resilient we will be in moving through obstacles. . We also need more than ever before, our beloved community and the support of our fellow yogis to stay strong and connected. . Mel and I have been working hard this last week to get our class schedule up online and will be starting Mon 30 March. In the interest of public safety we have decided to close our doors to public classes from this date. . We are not sure how long this will be for yet, but we will keep you informed as things change. . We are choosing to see our obstacles through the lense of love rather than fear and are excited to connect with you in a new novel way via zoom classes online. . After testing it out over the weekend we feel the quality and standard of the classes we are able to deliver is high and your teacher will still be able to see you on your mat and help you with technique and alignment. . The procedure for signing up to classes will be the same. Use the tribalance app or website to sign up to classes as before. You just need to download the zoom app on your laptop, tablet or phone and once you have signed up you will get an email with a meeting ID and password that will allow you to enter the online studio room. . Its super simple and we will be available on the phone for tech support for each class that is scheduled to make sure you can enter the studio room and get set up on your mat correctly. . 08.01.2022 @tribalance_yoga February challenge winner is @yogi_mb again! He has smashed 25+ classes (we actually lost count) in February! Here he has shared with us his experience: Having been apart of the TriBalance crew for just over a year I couldnt say no (or be allowed to say no) to signing up to the February Challenge. I gained so many benefits from the last challenge both mentally and physically. So this time around I decided to extend the challenge to six weeks focusing on diet..., exercise and yoga to see what positive changes I could make. I have one week to go and have been able to achieve a number of goals of weight loss, strength and cardio endurance. One positive I am taking from this challenge is to mix up yoga flows as I enjoyed taking extra classes that were more focussed on alignment and ensuring correct posture. It forced me to slow down and take in the benefits of yoga practice. Congrats to all the yogis who took part in the challenge. @ TriBalance See more

05.01.2022 Student Spotlight for July is our mother daughter yogini duo Ella & Narelle. Here they both share with us their yoga journey . 1. Whats your preference: Livestream or In Studio classes? N- In the studio, but the morning classes from home have been fantastic... E Livestreams are very convenient for morning classes, but the studio is my preference for other classes 2. Why do you practice yoga and/or pilates? N- Too many reasons, even after being a long time student I am still learning. E I practice yoga and pilates for its combined mindfulness and fitness benefits. 3. Why did you choose tribalance to support you on your journey? N- Tribalance was in a good locations and had multiple classes I could attend each week. I now enjoy the teachers and the variety of classes. E Mum was already a member of tribalance, and its location and range of classes are excellent. 4. Whats your favourite class at tribalance? N- It would regularly change depending how I am feeling E I prefer morning yoga basics classes and restorative yoga 5. Whats your favourite pose? N- Warrior, and all standing poses. I also like backbends. E Standing poses, spinal twists and balancing poses are my favourite. 6. Whats your least favourite pose? N- Standing in a balancing pose for a while is not a favourite pose of mine. E- I struggle with the L handstand and crow pose. 7. What aspects of your practise are you focusing on at the moment? N-Endurance and strength. I enjoy peak poses for the challenge and variety. E- Ive been working on building strength and flexibility since beginning with Tribalance and have recognised my improvements recently. 8. How has your practise changed since Covid-19?? N- Initially I was practising daily when I wasnt working at all, but I was also doing other exercise and when I became fatigued, I knew I was doing too much. E- I was practicing daily during the initial lockdowns, and Ive kept to a more consistent routine now since returning to work. . . .

04.01.2022 Teacher Spotlight for June is Carly Ponter . Here she shares with us her yoga story: 1. How long have you been practising and teaching yoga? .... Ive been practicing yoga since I was about 16 years old, but mostly just here and there, certainly not super committed in those beginning years. I got significantly more invested about 7 years ago, so much so, that I decided to do my teacher training. I finished my first YTT about 5 years ago and somewhat fell into teaching opportunities almost immediately after completion and I havent really looked back since! . 2. Whats your preference Livestream or In-studio for teaching? . I think live stream classes have most certainly served a purpose of late, and Im grateful for the opportunity to be able to continue to connect with people during this tumultuous time - but nothing beats the atmosphere of in person teaching. Theres something really potent about a room full of people all moving and breathing together as a collective, theres an energy and a vibe created that just doesnt translate through the camera. BUT... I do have to say that Ive thoroughly enjoyed being able to just roll out of bed and practice or teach from the comfort of my home though . 3. Why did you start practising yoga and what motivated you to want to teach? Yoga was initially just to compliment my training in the gym or at netball. Over the years though, as my training shifted, yoga was something that I always kept coming back to, no matter what, and I realised that I loved it for a whole lot of other reasons rather then just to stretch out after a run or whatever it was that I was doing. I started teaching because I felt such great benefits from yoga, I wanted to share that with other people. I was also just excited to empower and educate people about their bodies and minds. . Well be embodying the yogic teaching of Asteya (non-stealing) on the mat and inviting more abundance into our life . At times in my own life when Im suffering in any way. When Im feeling anxious or worried, I can always find solace and guidance in the wisdom teachings of yoga. . With so much uncertainty and fear in the outer world right now, even if you havnt actually lost your job or caught corona virus youre probably absorbing a lot of the lack energy by just watching the news and in social media. . So well practise this concept if Asteya on the mat by being supremely present to what the body is offering us in the moment. Not pushing or forcing the body into a shape that it maybe isnt offering us. When we accept what is being offered to us by the body in the pose and engage that in a constructive way we are consciously shifting out of this limited view that we need more, or that we are not enough. .
