18.01.2022 Yesterday the Supreme Court in Osaka ruled that tattooing be considered an art form and not a medical procedure and will now be legal! The ancient craft of Irezumi, sought after by English and Russian Royals in the early 1900's was deemed by the Japanese government to be 'low brow' and for decades wearers of even small tattoos were banned from public places and bath houses and any person carrying out the service of tattooing needed to have a medical license or face prosecution!
