20.01.2022 Amanda, Shaun and I attended the Remembrance Day Memorial at Kings Park today, taking the opportunity to pause and reflect on the service and sacrifice given in the name of our country. Where we were standing, near the Flame of Remembrance was a display of hand knitted poppies. These poppies were from a collection of 60,000 hand knitted poppies, each representing one of the of the 60,000 Western Australians who lost their lives during WWI.... In total on display were 40,000 of these poppies, this sea of red was a confronting way to visualise the real human cost of war. Thank you to all who currently serve, have served and those who have paid the ultimate sacrife. We will remember them, lest we forget.
