17.01.2022 FAT INTAKE It won’t make u fat if u do it right!!! Having a healthy balanced fat intake within your diet will: Improve Insulin Sensitivity... Reduce blood sugar levels Help regulate hormones Aids in cellular growth/recovery To put it simply this will allow us to burn more of our own fat stores, aid in muscle growth & recovery! Some easy ways to implement this into your diet: Eat more fatty fish, high in Omega-3 Supplement with Fish oil (High DHA) Swap to grass fed meats Eat more eggs & avocado Swap to coconut oil or organic butter when cooking While all this is great, fat is calorie dense & we should take portion size into consideration.

When we break down dieting to its most simple calculation: - If your eating to much (providing to much energy) for your body to use, then long-term you’re going to gain weight. ... This is what is meant by calories in vs calories out. If you truly think your doing everything right eating healthy, controlling your portions, training hard, etc. And yet not achieving the goals your setting yourself then maybe its time to have a hard look at the fact that your consuming to many calories. 3 of the big mistakes we see our clients doing that stop them achieving their goals are: 1. Alcohol this one is simple! we all drink to much, its deceivingly high in calories & we tend to lie to ourselves about it. NOT SAYING TO CUT IT OUT COMPLETELY! 2. Eating out/take away It’s all about the hidden calories here! Restaurant/take away food is all about being delicious, which means it’s generally full of sugar & or fat. 3. Snacking Snacking seems to reinforce bad habits! The main reasons we crave snacks are skipping meals, not eating enough in main meals, not eating regularly & being BORED! All these bad habits can impair our decisions when it comes to what we eat! While we don’t believe any long-term nutrition plan should revolve around counting calories and weighing foods, we highly recommend you learn exactly how much you’re consuming so you can figure why you may not be getting the results you want/deserve!!! While cutting calories right down in a nutrition plan may give u some early results (probably just water weight), having a large calorie deficit in your diet may put your body into starvation mode slowing your metabolism. Cutting carbs might not be the best way to lose weight. Cutting carbs out of your diet is extreme and let’s be honest it makes any diet pretty damn boring... Here lies the problem! Initially u may... get some results which Is great but within a few weeks those cravings will start creeping in and before you know it you’ll be devouring an entire pack of Tim Tams. Instead of depriving yourself an entire food group why not look at the types of carbs you eat and the portion sizes. Manage stress levels, while this can be a hard one! High cortisol levels (stress hormone) will counter almost anything positive your trying to achieve with your health and fitness goals. One thing a lot of us suffer from is lack of sleep Deep consistent sleep is one of your best friends when it comes to your health & fitness. Prioritize strength & weight training! While cardio & hiit based training is fantastic for variety & keeping things fresh and different. Resistance training can offer a higher metabolic response then going for a run or sitting on an elliptical. It will also shape and tone your body. Have a crack, don’t be scared to increase those weights as you feel stronger. With time with a good nutrition plan you’ll see your body shrink & tighten not bulk and grow! See more
