17.01.2022 TriClubbers, we are incredibly disappointed to share the news that the 2020 edition of the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship which was due to take place in Taup, New Zealand has been cancelled. Based on careful consideration in accordance with numerous criteria the state of the pandemic around the world, border and travel restrictions, athlete qualification opportunities, our mission to host a truly competitive world championship, and our desire to provide our athletes and h...ost communities as much preparation time as possible we have come to the unfortunate conclusion that the 2020 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship simply cannot proceed. There is considerable effort that goes into producing, and qualifying and training for a world championship event, thus this is a decision we’ve not taken lightly. While we are beyond disappointed to not be hosting the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship for the first time since 2006, we will immediately shift our full focus towards creating exceptional world championship experiences for future editions. The event will return on September 17-18, 2021 in St. George, Utah, USA. We are also actively working to bring the event to Taup, New Zealand in 2022. Athletes registered for the event will be receiving an email with further information. If you have additional questions, please contact [email protected]. We thank our athletes for their commitment and our team looks forward to delivering an exceptional IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship race when we return in 2021.

The countdown is on, with just a few weeks to go, we know many of you are itching to get to the start line for IRONMAN 70.3 Sunshine Coast on Sunday 13 September 2020. Now is the time to #RallyTheTroops and score some post-race celebrations on us! So, rally up your TriClub mates and make sure everyone is registered (and affiliated) to join us by no later than midnight Thursday 13 August 2020.... The details... When will the comp run? Today 23 July 2020 13 August 2020 How does it work? The two TriClubs with the most registered and affiliated athletes (team and individual) by Thursday 13 August 2020 for #IM703SC will win First place: $300 restaurant voucher Second place: $200 restaurant voucher Random draw: $100 restaurant voucher Clubs who make the top 10 in the leader board will be in the draw to win our third restaurant voucher. What if a team member is already registered? If they are affiliated with the correct club they will be counted. You will not be counted if you do not have the correct club in your profile. 14.01.2022 Drum Roll Please The winners of the 2020 IRONMAN 70.3 Sunshine Coast Rally the Troops competition are... First place goes to Red Dog Triathlon Training with 42 registered athletes! You have scored a $300 restaurant voucher.... Second place goes to SouthBank Triathlon Club who were not too far behind with 29 registered athletes and have won a $200 restaurant voucher! But wait, there's more... Our random prize draw winner goes to Bayside Multisport Triathlon Club who just scored a $100 restaurant voucher! Congratulations to all our winning TriClubs. An email will be sent out with more information regarding your prize and collection. 13.01.2022 When we postponed the IRONMAN World Championship from its original date of October 10, 2020 to February 6, 2021, we felt confident we would still be able to deliver an exceptional world championship event at the later date. Based on careful consideration in accordance with numerous criteria the state of the pandemic around the world, border and travel restrictions, athlete qualification opportunities, our mission to host a truly competitive world championship, and our desir...e to provide our athletes and host communities as much preparation time as possible we have come to the unfortunate conclusion that the 2020 edition of the IRONMAN World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i simply cannot proceed. There is considerable effort that goes into producing, and qualifying and training for a world championship event, thus this is a decision we’ve not taken lightly. While we are beyond disappointed to not be hosting the IRONMAN World Championship for the first time in our 43-year history, we will immediately shift our full focus towards creating exceptional world championship experiences for future editions. 03.01.2022 ** Taup, New Zealand to host 2022 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship ** Since the confirmation that the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship cannot take place as plann...ed in New Zealand in November 2020, we have been working hard to provide athletes the opportunity to race in Taup, New Zealand in the future. Thanks to the support of our stakeholders, we are very happy to confirm today the event will take place in Taup, New Zealand on 10-11 December 2022. While it may be two years later than originally planned, we are thrilled to be able to bring the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship to Taup and can’t wait to welcome athletes to this amazing location. #IM703WC #Taup2022
