17.01.2022 *IRONMAN Oceania 2020 Season Update* Yesterday we confirmed that IRONMAN Australia and IRONMAN 70.3 Port Macquarie, unfortunately, will not be taking place as p...lanned this September due to reasons relating to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Not being able to hold a big, iconic IRONMAN event is hugely disappointing for everyone involved. However, we are determined to come back to Port Macquarie even stronger in 2021. We understand many of you are wondering what this means for the rest of our IRONMAN events scheduled to take place in Oceania in 2020. With Government restrictions easing in some states we remain very positive about the road ahead. Our team, with the support of our stakeholders, are fully focused on delivering amazing and safe events in the second half of 2020. Every event is being assessed on a case-by-case basis. We consider local regulatory and health restrictions, domestic and international border controls, event design and community resources specific to every event. One thing for certain is that change is constant, but we work with the information that we have at hand at the time. As at today (8th July), our team is full steam ahead with the planning and delivery of these events: IRONMAN 70.3 Sunshine Coast (13 September) in Queensland. IRONMAN 70.3 Western Sydney (27 September) in New South Wales IRONMAN 70.3 Melbourne (15 November) in Victoria IRONMAN Western Australia and IRONMAN 70.3 Western Australia (6 December) in Western Australia We are also working very closely with local stakeholders to finalise our plans for IRONMAN Cairns and hope to have an update regarding this event in the next couple of days. For our New Zealand athletes, we would also like to confirm that IRONMAN 70.3 Taup will not be taking place in November/December this year. We understand it can be difficult to stay motivated when the goalposts keep shifting but to anyone entered in an event later this year, we encourage you to stay positive and keep your training up. On behalf of the entire IRONMAN Oceania Group, we thank you again for your ongoing patience and support. Kia Kaha (Stay Strong).

14.01.2022 An example of why we continue to fight this horrendous crime.

14.01.2022 I’m deeply encouraged and so grateful for all of you who have been sharing about A21 in recent days. Your actions and words encouraging others around you to bec...ome aware of the realities of human trafficking have not gone by unnoticed. This fight against injustice is far from being over. And this fight cannot be done without you. The A21 team, Nick, and I are committed to abolishing slavery everywhere, forever, more than ever. It’s so important to us you know the facts about human trafficking and learn about the many ways you can be involved. At a21.org/21ways, we share 21 different ideas of ways you can fight human trafficking with us (see a few of these ways in the second + third graphic of this post). Whether you are a stay-at-home mom, corporate executive, student, ministry leader, or anything in between, there is one thing each of us can do, wherever you are right now. There is no step, voice, or action too small in this fight. Together, I believe we can have a global, lasting impact. I hope that you’ll join us on this journey and I encourage you to follow along with us on A21 social media or a21.org to stay up to date. There are numerous resources our team has developed and is developing to equip you to turn your passion into tangible action. While there is much work to be done, I’m full of hope for what’s to come. Thank you for believing in hope with us. Much love to y’all.

14.01.2022 In the weeks since A21 Global Freedom Summit, we’ve witnessed a record number of rescues for the month. This week alone, we are celebrating FOUR new survivorsm...en and women who are free from slavery and safe in our care (you can read more about their survivor stories on A21's page)! I never ever get tired of seeing these victories. There are 40 million people currently enslaved by #humantrafficking. And we will not stop fighting until every last one is free. For those of you who are on this journey with us, we are so grateful for your support. Whether you’ve been fighting trafficking for one month or a few decades, your voice, actions, and commitment matters. Because of your tireless support, our A21 teams are continuing to spread awareness locally and globally, create brand-new prevention tools, keep our hotlines running 24/7, assist victims to safety, and provide survivors with the necessary aftercare support. We’ve pivoted in hundreds of different ways this year, but we are in this fight for the long haul. Together, we are ending slavery everywhereone life set free at a time.

12.01.2022 This type of exploitation definitely happens in Australia and all over the world. This is an example of why we continue to fight this horrendous crime.

07.01.2022 So hard to comprehend, so heartbreaking but important as we realise human exploitation is in every country including Australia. This is just one reason why we continue to fight against human trafficking.

05.01.2022 #BreakingNews A woman traveled to a European country with someone she knewonly to be trafficked for sex after arriving. Her story is so similar to many others.... For this particular victim though, the difference is she is now free. She bravely escaped her sex trafficker, contacted A21, and our team assisted her safe return back home to Bulgaria. Even through quarantine restrictions, our A21 Aftercare team is providing her with individualized care and support for her restoration journey. I want to thank those of you who stand with us in this season as we continue to abolish slavery and fight injustice. Your support truly makes a difference. Wherever you are, you can fight freedom with us: a21.org/21ways

05.01.2022 Well, it would have been race weekend this weekend. Hope you’re all doing ok. Hang in there with some training and here’s hoping for Sept 13 race day. Thinking of you all and thankful we can use our sport to make a difference in other people’s lives as we help fight human trafficking. Mia. X

02.01.2022 Today, we are celebrating the rescues of FIVE individuals who now have the opportunity to start life afresh! Stefania from our A21 team in Greece recently share...d with me that four survivors in our care also secured jobs. In a global pandemic, this is absolutely incredible news! When we identify trafficking victims and bring them into our care, we are not only committed to rescuing them from their traffickers, but we are also committed to helping them through their restoration journey and coming alongside them to see a brand-new future, full of hope and dreams. Through the Life Programs led by our social workers, survivors become equipped and empowered with relevant knowledge, skills, and strategies to overcome trauma and take steps toward wholeness and independence. I’m so proud of our survivors they have been diligent, faithful, and persistent in their steps toward restoration. Many of you know that Greece is close to my heart in fact, this is where our first A21 office was established over 12 years ago. But human trafficking is not just an issue in Greece, or in Europe. It is a widespread, global issue that’s affecting millions of people all over the world. More than ever before in history. However, we believe that change is possible and freedom and justice will prevail. In 2020, we’ve seen 95 victims identified and 51 new survivors brought into our care. These numbers represent individuals. These individuals represent victory. And every victory for one shows us what is possible for millions more. The fight against human trafficking is still very much alive and moving forward. *If this is the first time you’re hearing about human trafficking, I encourage you to educate yourself on the current realities of human trafficking and learn how you can make a difference. There are numerous resources our team has developed and is developing to equip you. Learn about the different types of trafficking, signs of trafficking, how to report trafficking, how to prevent trafficking, and more through A21 social media or A21.org/HumanTrafficking
