25.01.2022 Congratulations to Poppy Loveridge who was recently awarded a Fred Hollows Humanity Award for her Kindness Garden project and contribution to the Kewarra Beach Campus. Poppy attended the virtual awards ceremony today along with other Year 6 students from around Australia who also received the award for showing kindness, compassion and caring in their communities. Well done Poppy!
24.01.2022 Farewelling our graduating class each year has become a day filled with rite of passage traditions, and this week it was the class of ‘20s turn. The Year 12s kicked off their last day, bright and early (this time not for studying), for their annual Valedictory Breakfast, which was catered for by Hospitality students. During this event, the School Captains (Thaine Wood and Lexie Hope) handed out their Year 12 memento book as a keepsake of their time at TAS. Vertical house groups were then given the opportunity to farewell their Year 12s in themed and personalised whole house celebrations.

23.01.2022 Welcome Trinity Anglican School, Cairns Early Learning Centre as our newest Education Provider in the Bush Kindy category. The children at TAS helped to develop... a plan that brought more trees into their play area, created a camp area and provided a home to some chickens who provide eggs to their tuckshop. If you'd like to find out more about TAS Early Learning Centre or any of our other Education Providers, head to our website https://natureplayqld.org.au//tas-early-learning-centre-ke See more

22.01.2022 Great to see David McKeon at the virtual Olympics Unleashed session today. David talked to the students about fitness, persistence and goal setting and how he achieved his dream of swimming at the 2012 London and 2016 Rio Olympics.
22.01.2022 Our senior cohort have finished exams, attended valedictory dinner and officially crossed the finish line! We wish you success in this next exciting chapter!
20.01.2022 Today the Kewarra Beach Kindergarten children and their Year 6 Buddies, participated in the Nature Play Queensland's Bio-Blitz - a great incentive to get children engaging with the outdoors and the living world around them. Prior to heading out, we spoke about the word "bio" meaning "living and alive". We talked about taking care of nature and that every living creature plays a part in our world. It didn't take long before the children and their buddies found an abundance of creatures going about their buggy business. Using the iPad to take photos, our next step is to upload our finds to our iNaturalist account and the Citizen Scientists will verify our discoveries. Watch this space!
20.01.2022 Great to see TAS used as an example of a ‘major’ school in a Courier-Mail story this morning on the school e-Sports competition that’s growing quickly in popularity throughout Queensland. https://www.couriermail.com.au//b5c647525f7655a72c71d83bce
19.01.2022 Yesterday Kewarra Beach Campus was a sea of blue and a splash of kindness for World Diabetes Day and World Kindness Day. Thanks to students for their Random Acts of Kindness and for helping to raise $367 for the Junior Diabetes Foundation.
19.01.2022 This week our Year 10 Outdoor Recreation Program students spent 3 days caving at Chillagoe. Personal challenge and pushing boundaries was a major theme of this trip and students completing cave navigation and teamwork activities, adventure caving, laddering and abseiling. Highlights included a 27m abseil into a cave and spending 5 hours traveling several kilometers through Queensland’s longest cave. Thank you especially to the cave guides Alan, Greg and Mark.
18.01.2022 White Rock Early Learning Centre kids are learning about global cultures, last week they played the Djembe drums from Africa. What a fun way to learn!
18.01.2022 Flashback Friday! In spirit of the Year 12 Formal tomorrow, here are some flashback pictures of Trinity Anglican School Formals over the years. Do you see any familiar faces?
17.01.2022 At Kewarra Beach Campus, today we remembered that at 11am on 11 November, 1918 the guns fell silent on the Western Front. We will remember them. Lest We Forget.
16.01.2022 Earlier in the year, TAS was named a finalist in two categories of The Australian Education Awards placing us amongst the country’s best. In a virtual awards ceremony live-streamed yesterday across Australia, White Rock Campus teacher Michelle Breen received an Excellence Award, placing her in the Top 4 primary school teachers in the country. Michelle's recognition tops off a big year for her as she was also named the Best Classroom Teacher - Accomplished phase (More than 5 ...years’ experience) at the recent Australian College of Educators (ACE), Noreen Wilcox- Excellence in Education award ceremony in October. Well done Michelle!
14.01.2022 Perhaps the most awaited tradition for Year 12s is the time tunnel, which is an opportunity for students, teachers and parents to celebrate and farewell the graduating students together. All White Rock students line the pathways in order to get their last hugs and cheers in before our graduating class collect their bottle green bags and leave the school for the last time. Congratulations to the TAS Class of 2020. We are so proud of you, you will be missed, and we wish you success in your next chapter.
13.01.2022 Our Year 10 Outdoor Recreation Program students last week completed the world-renowned Hinchinbrook Island hike over four days. As part of this personal and leadership development program, these students organised and led their own expedition and were a pleasure to spend time in the outdoors with. Check out the great YouTube video. https://youtu.be/9bOUL9dN460
13.01.2022 After months of hard work, the Kewarra Beach Kindness Garden officially opened today. The Garden will serve as a safe space for students to reflect and spend when they need a little kindness in their day. This incredible initiative is the result of Poppy Loveridge (Year 6) who created the Garden as a project for her Round Square Service. Well done Poppy! 13.01.2022 This term as a class project, Year 8 students worked in small groups to choose a charity and pitch to their peers why their charity was the one that the class should fundraise for. This year, the Year 8’s chose to raise money for Ronald McDonald House, as some of their peers have utilised the charity in the past. The students set themselves a fundraising goal of $500 and raised money by selling Ronald McDonald socks. On Wednesday the 25th students wore their socks to school with spirit and were very proud to have raised $650 for the charity.
12.01.2022 Our Trinity Anglican School app has had a facelift! Now available to download on both Android and Apple devices through the App Store.
11.01.2022 Today was our annual Kewarra Beach Campus Charities Fair. In preparation for the fair, the students had to create a business plan, develop their COVID safe product or service and then sell it to the community to raise money. Today the students of Kewarra Beach Campus raised over $1600 for charity!
11.01.2022 Cancer Council fundraising continues at White Rock Senior tomorrow with CRAZY HAIR DAY. Wear your crazy hair for a gold coin donation. 08.01.2022 Over the last few days, Year 12 students took part in a series of revision seminars in preparation for their upcoming external exams. Great to see staff and students working together during the holidays towards the goal of academic success.
07.01.2022 Congratulations to Mr. Darren Osmond who has been nominated as one of five finalists in the Outdoors Queensland Awards 2020 for Outstanding Achievement (Individual). Good luck Mr. Osmond!
07.01.2022 As well as revision workshops, our Year 12 students have been sitting a series of practice (mock) exams in preparation for their upcoming external exams. Holding these in Term 3 is too early (as having assessment too early cuts back on valuable learning time) and in Term 4 is too late (as not enough time for students to productively use the extensive assessment feedback provided by our staff). Answer? Hold the mock exams at the optimum time the second week of the holidays! Thanks to a truly collaborative approach between staff, parents, and (of course) students. #TASCultureOfLearning
06.01.2022 The annual TAS Model UN took place today, with the Year 12 students representing different countries and being tasked with setting some clear guidelines for a COVID 19 vaccine, who gets it, who develops it as well as proposing alternative solutions. The morning was filled with excellent debates, questionable costumes and plenty of laughs.
05.01.2022 Thank you to the Tung-Yep family for their generous donation of a new reading chair for our students to enjoy at the White Rock Campus Library.
04.01.2022 Our dynamic school is seeking a qualified Casual Swimming Coach. Apply today! https://www.seek.com.au/job/50615217
03.01.2022 Last week has been busy in the library! We started with Christmas activities and Book Week wrap-up party (where lucky competition winners had their pizza parties!) Primary students had fun creating some fun candy cane reindeers - we had a few alien reindeer, one-eyed reindeer and even a reindeer with eyes on the end of their antlers. Well done kids!
02.01.2022 Trinity Anglican School has been running the Duke of Edinburgh (International) Award Scheme for more than 25 years. There are three main levels of award that students work towards and the Gold-level award is renowned internationally as a recognition of a young person’s commitment and personal motivation. We are thrilled to announce that two Year 12 students, Ella Reeves and Lexie Hope, have completed this award this year. Congratulations! This is a particularly wonderful achievement in a year interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic, which created additional challenges for award completion. We look forward to announcing some more Gold awards in the near future.
