23.01.2022 Meditation: Love and the End of the World, written by Dr Scott Kirkland. Repetition ends with failure, and begins with hope. So perhaps love might even interrupt repetition, it might be the end of history.

21.01.2022 An "outstanding debut book" by Trinity alum and Hon Post-Doc Alex Ross offers a paradigm-shift in understanding authority and polity in Anglicanism. 21.01.2022 Hope, assurance of restoration, and belief in the God who can bring an end to all suffering, does not prevent Jesus weeping. This weeks meditation, Hope, by Dr Rachelle Gilmour. https://www.trinity.unimelb.edu.au//news-/meditations/hope

21.01.2022 This Sunday marks the beginning of Advent one of the most joyful and celebratory periods on the Christian calendar. Normally, around this time of year we'd be preparing for special Advent services and our yearly carols event. The need for continued social distancing however, means we have had to go digital. So each week leading up to Christmas, we'll be sharing a piece of music from the catalogue of our wonderful choir, a reflection, a prayer and a poem. This week, our reflection comes from Trinity College chaplain The Revd Dr Colleen O'Reilly.

20.01.2022 All Saints Anglican Church Nelson Bay pastor Kesh Govan & associate pastor (and current Trinity student) Catherine Govan say that COVID-19 has given the church a chance to be church again - and they are doing some wonderful work with their community:

20.01.2022 What impact is the COVID-19 pandemic having on religious communities around the world? In this episode, Dr Ed Kessler speaks with Reverend Professor Mark Lindsay from Trinity College Theological School about the situation in Australia.

20.01.2022 Meditation: Curse or Gift, by The Revd Dr Gary Heard. The yearning for returning to the past may keep us from discovering the new opportunities and perspectives which this time affords us. https://www.trinity.unimelb.edu.au//meditati/curse-or-gift

19.01.2022 It is the duty of a good shepherd to shear his sheep, not to skin them. The motivation of political leaders has often funnelled into two distinct categories: those motivated by a calling to serve others, and those motivated by self-gain. In this week’s meditation, the Revd Dr Fergus King explores these motivations through the passages of Ezekiel.

19.01.2022 How we care and support one another has changed. With the need for physical distancing, the way we express pastoral care, whether to our family, friends or community, has had to adapt. In the Semester 2 unit available at Trinity College, Theology and Practice of Pastoral Care, we will look at this concept of pastoral care in a fresh light. Reflecting on the nature of human identity and relationships, the contribution of spiritual perspectives and the various traditions of both pastoral care and pastoral theology, students will develop a practical and holistic approach to pastoral care.

18.01.2022 We learn patience through experience as we become adults. We learn that the seeds will push through the soil, the special day will come, and we will be there - eventually. Here in Victoria, we have to wait yet again for life to resume whatever new patterns of possibilities and restrictions the coronavirus will impose on us even when it subsides. This weeks meditation by the Revd Dr Colleen OReilly: https://www.trinity.unimelb.edu.au//m/the-gift-of-patience

16.01.2022 With the Victorian Premiers Stay at Home directive, which came into effect at midnight, Trinity College will be making changes to its Residential College, Theological School and Pathways School arrangements. We are still currently working through what that exactly looks like for Trinity College. Rest assured, the health and safety of every student and staff member is at the forefront of our planning. Weve been incredibly fortunate thus far to have been able to keep COVID-1...9 out of the College. It is challenging, but we are steadfast in our determination to preserve our healthy environment. For our Theological School, all of our classes will continue online in Semester 2, and will do so until it is safe to return to campus. Those registered in online units will, of course, stay in online instruction for the duration of the semester. The campus, including the chapel, will remain closed to offsite visitors. We know students in our Theological School are eager to return to campus and are wondering when theyll be able to do so. We understand, and know that this uncertainty can be very unsettling. We hope that before too long staff and students will be able to return to campus and resume face-to-face teaching. But until then, maintaining the health and safety of our community is paramount. For our students, as soon as decisions are made regarding the return to campus you will be the first to know. The situation is disappointing. But even in this period of great unrest, the spirit and strength of our learning community is unsurpassed. Were immensely proud of how staff and students have banded together in the face of these obstacles and will continue to do so over the coming weeks and potentially months. Stay well, stay safe, and hopefully well be able to see you all very soon.

16.01.2022 The collapse of the Berlin Wall is arguably one of the most pivotal turning points in modern history, from a political and ecological standpoint. In the Semester 2 subject on offer at Trinity College, The end of history: apocalypse, economy and ecology, students will examine the deadlocks of contemporary politics and the simultaneous saturation of culture with the apocalyptic genre that has emerged since the collapse of the Berlin Wall.

16.01.2022 The Australian Intercultural Society, Trinity College, University of Divinity & Islamic Sciences & Research Academy would like to invite you to our upcoming webinar: Prayer, Patience & Pandemic. Life throws many challenges that impede our ability to achieve our goals or live the life we aspire. Through prayer, we often find the courage to get back up and strive forward. The desired result is not always achieved at the first go, so we keep trying. With a bit of patience, pers...everance and persistence we either achieve what we set out to do or have to contend with another outcome sometimes to our dismay. The Corona pandemic is THE biggest disruptor to 2020, with everyone feeling its effects one way or another. How do we as individuals and collectively, who profess to be people of faith find the strength to get through this period ? Are we hopeful for our future, considering pandemics could unexpectedly pop up and change the way we live our lives ? The new normal may be to live with uncertainty and constant change, so how do we remain steadfast in our respective faiths and belief in God ? As women of faith, how could we inspire our faith communities to give individuals who are losing hope the shot of optimism they need ? Please register here: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/prayer-patience-pandemic-ti Then join us on the AIS YouTube Page (link below) on Monday 27 July from 7-8pm. This is a free event.
