08.01.2022 MOVEMENT IS MEDICINE . Office workers, students, graphics designers, accountants and anyone who spends most of their day working at a desk THIS IS FOR YOU! .... We are often focused on the way we sit or stand and how poor posture is harmful and detrimental to our health. While this is true and we should do our best to correct and maintain a good posture, trying to keep this up for hours on end is practically impossible for most people. . How often have you found yourself reverting back to a slumped, rounded posture with your neck straining to hold your head in a forward position? . And how many of you consciously hold yourself in what you know to be good posture and end up feeling uncomfortable in your neck, shoulders or back after being in that position for a long time? . While we do agree that having good posture is important, we advocate that there is a much more effective and beneficial approach to addressing the issue of working at a desk. . One word Movement. . Our body is designed for and thrives on movement. It can help improve our blood circulation, reduce stiffness and tension in muscles, lubricate our joints, assist with balancing hormone levels, and the list goes on. Movement counteracts the build-up of negative effects that happens with prolonged immobilisation. Even with the best posture, sitting (and standing) for a long time is a lack of movement for a long time. . Introducing short breaks while you are working is a great way to get some movement into your day. Ideally, everyone should try to get up and move once every 30-60 minutes. This can include a short trip to the kitchen or bathroom, some quick stretches and even simple exercises. . Good Posture + Frequent Movement = Better Health and Happier Bodies! . Keep your eyes out for new videos on our page with exercise ideas you can implement to your short breaks and get your body moving! . #trinityhp #trinityhealthandperformance #prehab #prehabilitation #rehabilitation #rehabilitation #deskjob #exercise #movementismedicine #movement #healthyliving #posture #postureexercises #badposture #correctiveexercise #movemore See more
