25.01.2022 Due to COVID and an overwhelming demand for plan renewals, the NDIS has introduced Automatic Plan Extension. If your new plan has not been finalised, DONT worry, the NDIS has introduced this Automatic Plan Extension. If your previous plan was for 12 months, then the extension will be for 12 months. If your plan was for 6 months, then your extension will be for 6 months, etc.... Essentially you are doubling the total value of your plan budget, over double the period. (Some exceptions apply for 1 off purchases, supported independent living, etc). If you haven't used all the money in your initial plan funded categories, these funds will roll over into the extended period. For example, consider the budget category 'Improved Daily Living' in your capacity building section. If your initial plan had $20,000, and you only used $10,000, then the left over $10,000 will be rolled into your next plan period and you will have $30,000 for that period. This extension will only remain active until your new plan has been finalised. 23.01.2022 Lately some of our participants have indicated that it has been difficult to get appointments with OT and Physio's. That face to face appointments mean long wait times. We have come across some therapists who still offer these therapies face to face if needed in the Wyndham area. PM us and we can connect you with them. You will then have to do your due diligence prior to selecting them.

22.01.2022 If your NDIS funding is Plan Managed or Self Managed then you have a choice of service providers that you can use. This gives you choice and control. The service provider does not need to be NDIS registered, however they need to have an ABN number. From Sunday 25 October 2020, the NDIS requires that all invoices from any of the service providers (be they a person, business or organisation who delivers funded services) must include their ABN in their invoices, before they ...will be paid. As plan managers we cannot process invoices without an ABN number. This may significantly delay the payment process. 18.01.2022 With Dan Andrew's lifting mask restrictions, announced yesterday, im sure a lot of you are very excited about not wearing the mask and visiting the places that you haven't been able to for the last 6 months! I would just caution everybody to be very vigilant and use your masks whenever possible. We have come so far and given so much we don't want to go backwards. 17.01.2022 Is your email address and phone number included in every invoice you send to us? You would be very surprised how often we need to chase up these details! As Plan Managers, we receive several invoices to process daily. A particular service provider can provide services to several participants and send several invoices. When payments are made, banks tend to batch payments into one deposit line per service provider and this can often be difficult to reconcile if you do not ha...ve a corresponding remittance advice. We send out remittance advice to service providers as soon as we process invoices. If however, we do not have your email address we cannot send you this information. 17.01.2022 Have you had a support worker test positive for COVID-19? If so, the NDIS has provided for this situation by allowing you to use your funds for a ONE time deep COVID-19 clean. You need to be plan managed or NDIA managed to do so. 14.01.2022 If you have an NDIS plan and had chosen to have the funding self managed, but now realise you dont want to pay the bills and keep track of it yourself, you can still have the ability to chose service providers and have someone else take care of the admin. The move to plan managed will not reduce your approved funding available for supports. Did you know that changing your plan to 'Plan Managed' is very easy and simple! We are here to help you! 12.01.2022 If you have an NDIS plan, have you checked to see if you are eligible for cleaning and gardening services? Many of you are and you just don't know it! 1. Does you disability prevent you from doing that particular task because your disability makes it impossible, then maybe your NDIS plan can fund it? You can only access the service if your disability is stopping you from doing that task. For example, cleaning or mowing your lawn. 2. It needs to be reasonable and necessary..., and you need to have the budget category to use. Assistance with gardening, cleaning and home maintenance is included in NDIS plans under the support category 'Assistance with Daily Living'. If you have available budget in your plan under this category, then you can use it. Please note that 'Assistance with Daily Living' is a 'core support' and can also be used to spend in other core support categories such as Consumables and Assistance with Social & Community Participation. Under lockdown, stage 4 restrictions, these services can be engaged. Most cleaners have the necessary COVID-19 infection control training certification. 05.01.2022 In the past we have written about iPads being available for NDIS participants as part of the COVID initiatives to connect with the community and to enable Tele-health. Unless we have an update, the ability to purchase devices expires on 30 September 2020 so if you haven't already done so, now is your chance to do so! Once you purchase the device, and you dont know how to use them, or are struggling to get connected, did you know that your plan may allow for you to get assist...ance with this, funded out of your Capacity Building (Increased Social and Community Participation) budget should you have available funding to do so. I was just speaking with a local service provider, Adam Ractliffe of ASR Odd Jobs, who did just that, this week. He described 2 scenarios: 1. One family had just purchased a new computer and needed assistance with having it set up and getting it hooked up to their internet. I went out got it all setup, online, and answered any questions they had whilst making sure it was all updated with the latest software. 2. The other client had an existing laptop that was having problems with the inbuilt mouse that would freeze when plugging in a USB mouse. This was proving to be a problem for online schooling. I went out and ran some updates, plugged in a brand new USB mouse and made sure that the client was happy and able to complete their school work. Adam has capacity and is available to assist you with any issues you may be experiencing. This is not a recommendation, just advice for you, so that you know that this kind of support can be paid out of your Capacity Building budget. To check if this is available for you, look under Capacity Building, Increased Social and Community Participation.
