06.01.2022 Quick tip for those playing at home. When fitting alloy beadlocks, please make sure the top bead is seated down into step down well properly before clamping the ring home. I know some Tyre/rim combinations make this a painful process, but it needs to be done. I have just stripped and fitted some tyres (downsizing) that I haven’t touched before and 4 out of the 6 tyres hadn’t been seated properly. Problems that arise from this....... Tyre doesn’t run true on the rim and will cause vibration and Tyre thump. Damages the bead and can create a structural issue to the bead area - possibly resulting in a non-useable Tyre or a Tyre that may let go at speed, something no one wants. Creates the potential for a porous rim and Tyre combo. It also squished the bead out of shape so when the next person comes along to fit, it makes it difficult to seat and seal them again. Cheers!
