13.01.2022 SPOTLIGHT on TEACHERS This weeks teacher feature is the second of our AWESOME FOURSOME MALE EDC Team, Mr Clive Smither. Clive is a renowned triple threat, with... a career spanning more than 3 decades, he has come to land on The Edges doorstep in 2020 and we could not be more excited to have him on our teaching team. Clive has been teaching students in and around Sydney for many years in Tap, Acting, Singing and Musical Theatre. He trained in a variety of genres including speech (UK and AUS), voice-over & panel training 2NBC, Radio & Television Channel 10 Brisbane, Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Musical Theatre, Banjo and Guitar. Clive is a qualified Australian Dance Association Teacher of Tap Dancing as well as an Australian 5 -time "Mo Award" winner and Australian Club Entertainment Award Winner with his Cabaret Act Triple Treat. Clive has an extensive career in Theatre and Musical Theatre his performances include; The Wiz (J.C Williamson), The Living Room Theatre Restaurant (Brisbane), The Mark Twain, Burning Log & Rafters Theatre Restaurants (Sydney), Billy Elliott (Sydney & Melbourne 2007-2009). Film credits include Mission Impossible, the Great Gatsby (2011-2012), Unbroken (2014), Deadly Women & Behind Mansion Walls (Beyond Productions). Clive has also appeared in many TV commercials and promotions including Coke, Salada, Lipton Tea, Kodak, Westpac, KFC, Ryobi, Virgin, channel 9s Big Brother, Hyde and Seek, Bleeding Steel, CNNNN, ABC 2003, Foxtel Digital launch and channel 10s Brock and Bond. Clive has produced, directed, written and performed in several childrens shows and pantomimes, interviewed and compered events for celebrities such as Andrew Ettingshausen, Wally Lewis, Max Walker, Tony Roach, Jeff Fenech, Danni Minogue, Celine Dion, Billie Piper, Nathan Cavaleri, Claudia Schiffer, John Farnham, Bob Hawke, Sydney Swans, Sydney Kings, Home and Away cast, Neighbours cast, Blue Heelers cast, Hi-5 and Human Nature, to name but a few. He is currently performing with Miss Nicky Diamond in his band Diamond Rhythm Duo, in numerous clubs across Sydney.
