25.01.2022 Another quality Lithium/solar install by Trip-Tracks! On this install, we travelled to Griffith and also enjoyed a bit of what the countryside has to offer - wineries, great food, plenty of camping and cool Autumn nights (and days). The owners of this Coaster have spent the past 12 months planning, designing and building their new home on wheels, and it has turned out very well indeed! They have managed to squeeze everything in - A/C, bathroom, diesel heating (water and space...) - which is impressive for a small space. They patiently waited for us to do our magic, then they hit the road just a couple of days later just in time to beat the Griffith winter. They had already installed the solar (an impressive setup that could swing up and be angled at the sun for optimal input during winter), so it was up to us to connect it up to their new power plant and show them how it all worked to allow them success on the road. A very impressive power plant of 400AH of Lithium batteries (LiFePO4) was chosen, coupled with top quality Victron gear: a Victron 3000VA inverter with integrated 120A charger, 60A bluetooth solar regulator, DC2DC charging while driving, bluetooth battery monitor, and all integrated together with a Colour Control and protected with our Lithium BMS. All installed correctly, with correctly sized cabling (most installers get this wrong - even from the factory - especially the inverter cables), circuit protection and controls, to provide years of trouble free off-grid camping. This system will allow the owners to run anything they can plug in at home - full size kettle, toaster, coffee maker, microwave, breadmaker, hair dryer, washing machine and even air conditioner. This system has full local bluetooth access as well as monitoring via the VRM web portal where the usage, solar harvesting and history can be seen (and shown off!). It even emails them (and us) if an issue occurs. This also gives us remote access to the system should a problem occur or an adjustment needed - something we love as we can provide the best support to our clients. The 400AH of Lithium provides 360AH of usable capacity. With a weight of just 64kgs, it provides the equivalent usable capacity of 6 x 120AH AGM batteries weighing 210kgs and almost 3 times the size! 23.01.2022 Another quality Lithium/solar install by Trip-Tracks! Congratulations to the owners of this beautiful 5th wheeler. They were previously managing (compromising) with a small inverter, 2x120AGM batteries and 2 x 90W solar panels.... They entrusted us to do a full upgrade and now there is no more compromising. This is what we came up with: - A 1300W of solar - that is a huge increase from 180W! - and they can still walk around on the roof for maintenance and cleaning - Victron MPPT solar regulator with Bluetooth connectivity to phone/ipad - Victron battery monitor with Bluetooth connectivity to phone/ipad - 400AH of Lithium (LiFePO4) - tripling the usable capacity (equivalent of 6 x 120AH AGM but weighing only 64kgs instead of 210kgs) - Victron 3000VA inverter/charger with 120A mains charger - Victron colour control - this ties all the components together and you can clearly see what is happening with charging and loads. This also provides logging on the Victron portal and alarm monitoring and emails for trouble free supervision, and remote access should they need any support - DC2DC charger to allow charging while driving while also charging with the solar - providing up to 110A of charging while driving Now they no longer need to compromise as they can run any appliance they do at home - full size kettle, toaster, induction cooktop, hair dryer, microwave, washing machine, sandwich maker, hot water heater, etc, and even the air conditioner while the sun is out. The 1300W of solar will provide up to 75A of charging. The inverter/charger provides up to 120A of charging, reducing generator run time, should this be required in in-climate weather. They also enjoyed the benefit of spending time with us on completion to ask any questions they had and use the system while we were still with them before heading off on their journey. The owners of this awesome custom 5th wheeler trusted us to get their electricial system right first time and kit them up for unlimited off-grid camping, including using their new split system A/C and Samsung inverter fridge. The steeply curved roof shape made an interesting challenge, but we managed to fit 4x330W Blade solar panels for a total of 1320W, providing up to 80A of charging current. These panels are one of the ...most efficient on the market - far exceeding the standard caravan solar panels typically sold to the caravan market. A custom housed 400AH of Lithium batteries (LiFePO4) to suit the small cupboard space, and top quality Victron gear: a Victron 3000VA inverter with integrated 120A charger, 85A bluetooth solar regulator, bluetooth battery monitor, and all integrated together with a Colour Control Panel and protected with our Lithium BMS. All installed correctly, with correctly sized cabling (most installers get this wrong - even from the factory - especially the inverter cables), circuit protection and controls. We even have beautiful custom panels for accessory plugs and switches, as can be seen with this plate that includes a dual 2.1A USB charger and cigarette lighter socket. This system will allow the owners to run anything they can plug in at home - full size kettle, toaster, coffee maker, microwave, breadmaker, hair dryer, washing machine and even air conditioner. I am told they have not connected to power since the system was installed (and they have not had the option to do this where they are currently). This system has full local bluetooth access as well as monitoring via an internet portal where the usage, solar harvesting and history can be seen (and shown off!). The system emails them (and us) if an issue occurs. This also gives us remote access to the system should a problem occur or an adjustment needed - providing fast, first class support to our clients. The 400AH of Lithium provides 360AH of usable capacity. With a weight of just 64kgs, it provides the equivalent usable capacity of 6 x 120AH AGM batteries weighing 210kgs and almost 3 times the size! That's impressive! The battery voltage is always above 13V, regardless of the State of Charge (SOC), something AGM batteries cannot match as they fall below 12V when they are discharged to around 50%. This ensures there is always plenty of power available for your appliances to operate effectively and efficiently (especially fridges). Congratulations to the new owners. Trip-Tracks would like to wish all our past, present and future clients a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year in 2020 (2020! where did all the years go?!) We have had a very busy year, thanks to our loyal and trusting customers who trust us to get their installation right so they can enjoy life in their off grid RVs.... We trust you are parked up, away from the crowds for Christmas and enjoying your new power systems. May the sun gods provide you with plenty of free power! 15.01.2022 Tired of your battery compartment #kabelsalat? Come and see us at Trip-Tracks RV Lithium and Solar and we will turn your kabelsalat into a beautiful picture that you will be proud to display. On this install, the 2 x AGM batteries had come to the end of their service life and the owners approached us for advice.... Instead of wasting more money on heavy AGMs, we installed a single #Enerdrive 200AH B-TEC Lithium (LiFePO4) battery increasing the usable capacity from 105AH to 180AH, and saving them around 35kgs and a heap of space in the process. We used their existing chargers and solar regulator and add a DC2DC charger. We believe a neat and tidy installation prevents future problems, and should an issue occur, makes it simple to find. All cabling was identified and labeled and a new fuse block added (including to wires that were installed with no cable protection at all). The owners also tasked us in finding out why their ESC and breakaway brakes were not working. The cause was found to be rodent damage - they sure had a great feed!
