25.01.2022 B O O ! I'm not much for Halloween... BUT let me tell you a scary story... Strength and muscle mass decrease by approximately 3 to 8% each decade after the age of 30. AND this loss only accelerates after the age of 60 ... How can you combat this? It doesn't take much. Getting into the habit of engaging in a regular strengthening routine - such as a Pilates class - will help to maintain your strength and muscle mass, while also working on improving coordination, control and balance.

23.01.2022 SWIMMING No swim cap necessary! Pilates swimming is a fun mat exercise as it brings in every part of the body.!... It is also quite challenging but luckily like most Pilates exercises it is easy to modify. Pilates swimming strengthens the entire back, improves your mobility & stability while challenging your coordination. I try to visualize lengthening from my fingers tips to my toes while reminding myself it doesn’t have to be perfect or look pretty it’s just how my body moves & feels today!! . . . .



23.01.2022 It’s time ...,, While some of us are still in holiday mode maybe it’s time to get our bodies moving again.! This week I will be teaching 2 x 60 min online classes that will be suitable to anyone that wants to move along with me at home.... I am so grateful for all the support you have continued to give me throughout the strange happenings of 2020.... I will be taking a break from today 19th December to 18th January to rest & recharge. 20.01.2022 BENT KNEE FALLOUT The simplest exercises are my favs to teach & to add to my own practice. I like to start with my feet on the Mat & add the arms as a coordination challenge ... Bent knee fallout / knee drops is a great exercise that will help improve pelvic & core stability coordination of breathing with movement your hips to move freely ( smooth & relaxed ) Try it for happy, healthy Hips! . .

16.01.2022 Sisters weekend !!!! I’m having a weekend away with my sisters so there will be no classes on Saturday 7th & Monday 9th November . Classes will resume as per normal on Tuesday.



15.01.2022 Mindful Movement Press pause & take some time for yourself as we rush towards Christmas. I find any movement a great way to stay present during this busy time.... As I always say, listen to your body and let the magic happen.! Your mind & body will thank you . . . .

15.01.2022 PRONE EXTENSION Prone extension is another foundation exercise and maybe one of the most important we do in my classes. Prone extension helps to counter all the curved spine sitting we do each day - hunched over your desk, texting on your phone, curled up on your lounge and driving.... Prone extension is a great exercise to strengthen your upper back muscles improve mobility in your spine stabilize your core. Remember to keep your spine long during extension so you don’t feel compression in your lower back .!

13.01.2022 BOOK OPENINGS Book Openings is not a foundation exercise but it’s always a favourite in my classes. Like Prone Extension, Book Openings counteracts the negative effects from sitting all day. ... When we spend hours bent over our phones, computers etc we develop stiffness in the upper back. These daily habits can have a flow on effect to the lower back, neck & shoulders. Book Openings can help to increase the mobility in your thoracic spine mobilize & stretch the chest open the front of the shoulders and encourages deep, controlled breathing

Staying physically active in your later years will be a great benefit to your overall wellness. . . . .

06.01.2022 L E G L I F T Leg lifts are all about control. What you'll achieve through regularly doing this exercise is the ability to move with more control and coordination. This exercise will strengthen the lateral flexors, improve core stability, improve balance and posture, and engage the minor muscles achieving whole body control.

06.01.2022 My News!!! Two years ago I sat down with a friend & we talked about my plans & dreams for the future. The one I always came back to was......teaching my classes at just ONE location in Wagga.... I am so excited to let you all know that my plans & dreams are to be fulfilled.! Commencing January 18th, I will be teaching my classes @movementremedies !!!.

05.01.2022 It’s one of those days!! As much as I love Pilates & find joy in the movements, some days I’m just not in the mood. And that’s okay! Even as as instructor I don’t always have to love Pilates each & every day.... So on these days, I might just lie down on my mat do some breathing exercises, some stretching , or I just might do nothing .... which is how I felt today. Do you find these days just as beneficial as an intentional session?? My mind and body say Yes, today. What about You?... . . .
