09.01.2022 Well damn I thought I took more photos! This went from dead flat to very round. Spread out again in a platter/bowl shape, then decided it was enough. Only .05mm left of wire (last of the reel) to make a beautiful finish. At that stage it was a bowl/ballish shape that wouldn't stand up. So we played; what happens if we... ????? And now we have a very usable strong vessel. Pretty happy with this; firm, solid and sound with a finished lip that stabilises it well. 05.01.2022 What happens when you work too long and are determined to 'just finish this tier and then stop'. Fatigue meant I disregarded one simple kink in the wire. Four tiers later, just running my finger accross the marred wire broke it. The kink turned out to be at the end of the where the wires were joining causing other kinks. So instead of three loops needing fixing, at least five need to be replaced. What lessons are learned?; 1) While these vessels are intrinsically as fragile... as the gauge of wire used, if they break, they can be fixed. 2) Go back to before the anamoly began to ensure a proper repair. 3) It is far better to have happened at this time than, when the weave will close in on itself and make getting at the repair spot so much harder. 4) Stop when you are first tired, not later.
