22.01.2022 Bound for Tasmania from Yeppoon Queensland is 2000ks of which we travelled in four days, we took the back roads inland rather than the busy danger of the coast rd in saying that the north bound road trains were huge sometimes 6 to 8 in a row driving at a cracking pace.....very scary In Melbourne staying at the Mornington Peninsula we enjoyed the hospitality of friends and food to good to be true. Once on the vessel Spirit of Tasmainia Simi was loaded into provided cages on th...e vechile deck it felt so mean and was tearful leaving her there overnight with all those strange noises on deck Our crossing went smoothly thank goodness even though I woke a few times feeling like I was rolling in the deep lol . We berthed at 6am in Davenport, once off and back onto new Tasmanian soil we were a 100ks from Launcheston Such an amazing welcome and breafast from Marianne and Neville so here we are come with us on our journey around Tassi so like New Zealand youd think you are home once more cheers See more

19.01.2022 After spending 4 days in Boat Harbour by the sea we ventured on to Shaun and out to Macquarie Heads awesome to see the wild life of the Joeys and pretty lil Blue Wrens. Next passing through Queenstown, its like its situated at the bottom of a volcano ,the pull up the hills from there certainly very steep like driving through a pass. Staying the night at Bradys Lake..funny I got in and lay in the rapids and floated out into the lake water lovely and fresh, Hobart next campin...g at the showgrounds $20 a night ventured into the Cellamander Markets Huge markets spent time with our NZ friends Averil and Ron who were on the cruise ship, always nice to meet someone you know when away Now in Franklin by the river nice easy camping 4 nights for $30 great fishing spot for trout, bream,&flathead We are so very grateful to Marianne Emilie Smith and Neville giving us this beautiful experience to see Tassi with the use of their caravan.. fantastic sights scenery so like NZ you feel like your back home really spectacular, cheers stay with us and enjoy the views See more

17.01.2022 Take 2 eg: trip to Airlie Beach stopping first night at St Lawrence $12.00 a night good clean facilities, wetlands to view with beautiful birds and wild life,a fun wee out post the pub is the general store mostly retired folks living there. Travelling through all the sugar cane fields was interesting accompanied by the trains pushing all the wagons filled with cane. Airlie is beautiful, crystal clear waters, sky so blue but one can see it is void of all the usual backpackers usually cramping the towns due to Corona Virus, other pics show areas in and around Airlie in the back drop beautiful tree clad forest on the hills, swaying palms swaying everywhere framing the picturesque views out to sea.

16.01.2022 Staying at middle Earth such an amazingly beautiful place designed by two Kiwis Chris and Beth, a delightful easy going couple with everything at their fingertips mowed down 1,000 mandarin trees to create this Paradise. Living in the middle of a rain Forrest, bird life so beautiful in feathers and sound, designer plants echoing the breeze of the Forrest giving peace and relaxation to ones soul giving life renewal and refreshment from the worlds trauma step aside where ever y...ou are and take time to renew your strength in a beautiful way We had such a delightful time making new friends apart from Simi trying to outrun the poor old bush Turkeys lol, plus she loved the bush showers and toilets let alone always on the ready to be the inspector of caravans arriving to welcome them and to see who is in them also delighting in their new arrival and someone new I can only but totally recommend this awesome piece of heaven, were going back soon why? because its one of the best and do you know these Kiwi folks just wanted to share their joy and Paradise so all could enjoy their beautiful land so blessed see you soon See more

15.01.2022 From Franklin where the little ducklings were we started off with 18 in 4 days we were down to 3 ducklings poor lil things the blinking seagulls smash and eat them so disappointing and disturbing sniff sniff On down through Geevstone a very Quaint little place everyone looked like tourists the People carvings were amazing these folks are all icons of the town, on through Sygnet bought two huge flounder $6.00 each jeepers a meal in itself and enjoyed I have to say nothing wa...sted. continuing on to Gordon around the bottom of the Peninsula passing Bacon & Eggs Bay.. The cooked flounder was great.... weather blowing guns at Gordon some folks lost their awning we were happy to pull out in the morning back through Hobart. Now on the last leg heading up the East Coast of which Im told is spectacular were free camping right by the sea one is allowed to stay 4wks all up apparently fishing is great final pic is Launceston where we started from heading back there to our friends what a time so very cool so blessed so like New Zealand you know we say here is Coramandel., Christchurch,Hawkes Bay, and so it goes on thinking of you all at home as it feels like your here enjoy thanks for travelling with us bless See more

15.01.2022 Massive storm sky today

15.01.2022 Arriving back in Melbourne ...phew after a very rough crossing so nice to welcome an early start off the boat at 6am photos include visiting the National War Memorial in Canberra Lakes Entrance, Cooma and Bathurst I have to say The National War Memorial is an amazing building, giving live coverage of war and aircrafton screens around two levels of the building.Apart from the norm it was swarming with school children, and young people and tourists of many nationalities. Well worth a visit if your headed that way,the National War Memorial faces Parliament Buildings based on the same layout as Washington DC on Capital Hill interesting concept that they both face eachother

14.01.2022 From Greens beach at the Mouth of the Tanmar river to the Cherry Farm, Cheese Factory,Chocolate Factory and Lavender Farm was a great day all locations were filled with tourists shopping and in the restaurants ..home in time for home made Pizza made by Neville, absolutely superb....learning how the Thermomix works have to say I wouldnt mind one so very quick and easy with great results. So far in Tassi you could be anywhere in NZ Coromandel Coast Napier Wellington, so far its a little like going back in time but we will see love having you along we hope its a great ride cheers

09.01.2022 On a shorter trip away north to Shoalwater Bay near the Shoalwater Military Base, heading in on a very long 100k dust bomb road extremely corrugated, Simi(our fur baby) was very disturbed and frightened. First sight of those beautiful turquoise waters,is always a joy unfortunately no swimming as shark infested , sad for me as I'm such a water baby, that's Straya. Finding our spot by the water at Plum Tree bay as its free camping, some folks look like they've been here for months, noted for its fishing,1 store, 1 petrol station,45 people have built and living here, next on the list time to explore all the bays.
