25.01.2022 Big turnout from members of The Motorcycle Sportsmen of QLD at Mick Doohan Raceway this weekend for a bit of fun in the dirt. Keith Hoare and I were both first timers but as you can see from the smile on our dials we had a good laugh and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly thanks for the opportunity mate! 25.01.2022 Three of my favourites! From left to right Ben - pushie obsessed owner of Cube Performance Centre who has been a tremendous help with all my bikes this year! Can get the most out of any bike and specialises in Ducati’s. Ben loves a good sandwich however the Reuben was a bit too much, don’t make Ben a Reuben Chris - suspension guru and all round good guy. Chris owns and runs XXX Rated Race Suspension in South Brisbane. He’s set up some of the fastest bike in the country and... last year the fastest bike in the country with Mike Jones Racing - Mad Mike. I’m lucky enough to have him work on my bikes this year. 25.01.2022 Good(ish) news today. Saw the surgeon about my fractured scaphoid from race one at RD4. Unfortunately it’s still fractured and healing slowly, but isn’t misaligned and no surgery needed!! Just visits to the hand specialists to regain range of movement. Looking forward to the break over Christmas and hopefully is fully healed by the coaching and track days with The Motorcycle Sportsmen of QLD and Advanced Rider Training in January! 19.01.2022 Chris Jones of XXX Rated Race Suspension has worked his black magic and re-valved the K-Tech ahead of next weeks race meeting. Can’t wait to give them a run and see if we can smooth out some of the tougher sections of the track. 15.01.2022 Endurance racing is awesome! The Motorcycle Sportsmen of QLD hosted the Ricondi Motorcycle Apparel 2 Hour and RACE and ROAD Metronome this weekend, and holy hell was it fun! Most of us hadn’t tried endurance racing before and the new format had a bunch of rules and formatting that was explained to us and then practiced. The safety car was something we hadn’t used and the club did an amazing job of running a very well thought out practical demo and practice of this. Also swit...ching between riders and mandatory timing when doing so. My teammate Andrew Duke and I opted to run a strategy of an hour straight each, which meant only one changeover and our only shot of gaining some time on the quicker teams! Things were going well with Andy lapping at a quick and consistent pace before losing the front in T4, he managed to get the bike back to the pits unaided and we did our rider swap at the 30 minute mark, unfortunately heading out 5 secs early due to a timing blunder. I was black flagged back in and served my penalty in the box of shame. Basically you wait while the marshals gather around and chant SHAME SHAME SHAME until you’re right to leave. A few rotten cabbages were thrown as well. I was off pace all weekend but was riding consistently, so just stuck to my guns and ground out an hour, coming in to switch with Andy who finished off with another half hour of much quicker times! We finished 6th, and had the time of our lives. We are already planning next years event and how we can do better, so keen. Well done to all the other teams who were out there, you all did an amazing job! Everyone took off at the same time on the Le Mans start as well, very cool to watch! There were some amazing prizes for those who made the podium, including free race rounds next year. There was also giveaways from Link International and Ricondi at riders brief including yet another FREE RACE SUIT! Both of these businesses generosity and support of our club and riders is phenomenal. Special thanks to my Dad Todd, Vera and Heidi for coming to support and pit for us both over the weekend and making it even more memorable. We really appreciate the support and loved having you all there.

10.01.2022 It’s hard to describe the incredible support I’ve received this year through The Motorcycle Sportsmen of QLD R3 Club Pilot Program. There are so many who contribute towards giving Joe Average a crack at racing. Thank you to all who have made this such a fun ride so far. I’ve been having a blast and can’t wait for RD4 in a few weeks. 05.01.2022 I’ve lost count of how many times Ricondi Motorcycle Apparel has saved my hide this year. I’ve had some pretty significant offs including a whopper in turn 9 at RD4. Through all of this I have kept every bit of my epidermis in tact and the suit has never come apart. The last one was 6th gear pinned and I went for one hell of a ride. It’s hard to put into words what that means to a racer when you have complete faith in the gear you’re wearing. 03.01.2022 Big shoutout to Rose City Caravan Park for hosting my smelly self over the last week. It was a nice change having a comfy bed and a cosy caravan at the end of the day instead of the van! #rosecitycaravanpark offers cabins with en-suite, furnished caravans, camping and caravan spots at affordable prices. The place is incredibly bike friendly and love to have racers staying as much as possible. The place is run by Micky and Darren and Daz races with The Motorcycle Sportsmen of ...QLD out at #Warwick as well. I stayed in the race themed caravan and loved the effort they’ve gone to with the joint. Check out the toolbox kitchen drawers!!
