Interestingly Uesaka use just enough hard chrome to cover their hand pressed knurling on their special Japanese steel bars. This makes for the perfect grip without losing any structural strength that cutting in the knurling may occur. 22.01.2022 To be in tune with your athletes is really quite a magical, wondrous thing and sometimes quite scary. Over the years you see the expected changes in your lifters for the good and sometimes you see things that just are not right so you send them off for medical advice. Amongst the many issues weve seen, weve had a lifter diagnosed with an enlarged kidney which was life threatening and needed urgent surgery,one even had bone cancer. So bad the leg was close to amputation ...and weve had others with serious undiagnosed psychiatric disorders. There have been many other crazy medical situations. Andrew here is a strong, determined and focussed lifter. Hes made impressive improvements since starting with us early this year. However lately the weights have been going down and the intensity just wasnt there. Andrew picked himself up and went to hospital. Were all shocked to find out he has a serious immune disorder and requires a stay in hospital. The prognosis does however looks good. Coaches stay in tune with your lifters. If you honestly back your programming and coaching and things just dont seem right with a lifters ongoing results then seek medical attention ASAP. Always be on the ball. 12.01.2022 As the populous awaits the AWF selected nominations to be announced which will then be presented to the Commonwealth Games Association for Comm Games selection Im thinking back to that amazing 112 kg Clean and Jerk by 35 year old Seen Lee to snatch the 63 kg spot from our amazing Junior Kiana who had a surprisingly bad comp. Im certain I did my best for her as coach and as such she has been lifting incredibly well since the disaster of Junior worlds. She actually snatched 90x2 just 10 days before but could only muster 88 on the day. Thats our crazy sport eh ? Its awesome to see here that Seen and Kiana are the only Aus women who hold any form of Oceania records. They are great friends and fierce combatants

10.01.2022 A reflection on an interesting 2017 showed a multitude of highs and lows for our club and lifters. Year highlights included Junior lifter Kiana securing her 4th senior National title in her 4 th year in the sport ! Jacob landed his first title with fellow member Sam taking silver in the 94s. Isaac took bronze in the 69 seniors. Sammy took silver in the 69s with new club member and long time associate Joc taking 4th in the same comp. meanwhile Livvy took gold in the 58 Junio...rs and Jack took silver in the 69s at youth nationals. Internationally Jacob, Livvy , Jack , Joc,Sammy and Isaac competed for Aus for the first time with great results. Jon scored a silver at the World Masters!As one of the coaches and founder of our great little club I commend all of our current members for sticking with us in what has been a rather tumultuous year politically. Regardless huge numbers have been hit on the little and big platforms by you all and Im so looking forward to what fun and games the great sport of Weightlifting holds for our new and old members in 2018. The top lifters who are medal prospects from Papua New Guinea, Nauru, Kiribati, Solomon Islands, Cook Islands, Samoa, Fiji and New Zealand over the past ten days have been training together a...t the Institute. Were excited to announce that tomorrow, Friday, 2nd February, we will be streaming our training session live from the Institute in New Caledonia. 01.01.2022 http://olympics.com.au//australian-team-announced-for-paci Eight women and seven men make up Australias 15-strong weightlifting contingent, including 21-year-old Kiana Elliot who has five national titles to her name, represented Australia at the 2014 Nanjing Youth Olympics, and is a 15-time Australian Team representative. As a 17-year-old, Elliot won bronze at the 2015 Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea, which was her first Senior competition. Four years later, the former ...gymnast-turned-weightlifter is back on the team, with Tokyo 2020 in her sights as her major goal. Being selected on this Team means its time to get down to business, Elliot said. The Pacific Games are an important stepping stone toward Tokyo 2020. It is one of six events where athletes can earn ROBI points which contribute to the overall Weightlifting rankings for Tokyo qualification.
