25.01.2022 COVID UPDATE: access to Tasmania Tourism Tasmania news Aviation update: "Recovering aviation access to Tasmania is the highest priority for the recovery of the visitor economy. The Tourism Tasmania team has been working with airlines and airports to support the reintroduction of services, with the following updates recently announced:... "From 7 December, QantasLink will reintroduce services between Melbourne and Devonport. There will be two flights per day from Monday to Friday and one on Saturday. QantasLink will operate the Q400 aircraft (74 seats) initially, and a Q300 aircraft (50 seats) will operate from January. "Qantas will operate its Canberra-Hobart service three times a week from 4 December. "Starting in December, the following services will be available to/from Launceston: "Qantas Melbourne, 2-3 x daily Sydney, 4 x per week Jetstar Melbourne, 6 x daily Sydney, 3 x daily Brisbane, daily "Virgin Australia has announced that it will bring forward the reintroduction of four-times weekly services between Melbourne-Hobart and Melbourne-Launceston. The services will commence on 27 November and move to operate daily from 14 December.
