18.01.2022 Day 2 of the clean up begins with everyone's spirits a bit higher today A big shout goes out to John Martin, Carl Van Veen and his boys Craig and Ben for their massive effort yesterday helping us get a lot of the debris, coconuts and trees cleared of our roads- we are extremely grateful! Fresh reserves have arrived in the form of Courtney Parker and Brett Manson so the clean up effort is progressing well

14.01.2022 Well the secret is out! Bowen locals have long known what a perfect place our destination is to escape the winter blues... but now Bowen has been ranked no.5 in... the Wotif.com Winter Heat Index! Sitting right alongside some major national and international holiday locations, Bowen is in the spotlight for one of the best winter escapes! Better yet.. online travel website Escape.com.au has Bowen ranked at no.2 nationally! But, as we know, with beaches like these, and some pretty wicked reef to explore, there'd be no other choice. 05.01.2022 Easter fishing is looking good at Tropical Beach Caravan Park!! Another fine Barra caught this morning!

02.01.2022 Well we survived a horrendous few days and compared to some we have come out of it ok! We won't be forgetting this one for quite a long time! We have had no major damage to our infrastructure as far as we can tell, besides the BBQ area that was crushed by a tree and one cabin had a tree fall on it. We have lost a lot of our coconut palms and will have to cut down a few more which are now leaning dangerously. We had, well still have water in our reception/office area so we are... guessing our roof is damaged and most of the cabins also got water in them. Now the clean up begins and I have to say it's quite overwhelming my heart goes out to those people whose roofs got blown off and whose houses were demolished or had water flood though them It must be devastating! Looking around it's hard to even know where to start first but we will get it done and be up and running again very soon! Thanks again to all of you who have called and sent through messages it has been very much appreciated There is still no electricity and our wifi is down and Telstra service is up and down so if you have sent us an email I will try and get to it soon. Anybody who is worried about their bookings feel free to call on 07 47851490. I will post a couple of photos once I have a better phone signal. See more
