21.01.2022 These beautiful birds are responsible for all the holes in our garden. Although sometimes a little frustrating, we are happy that we can provide safe shelter for them. Maybe we get to witness their incredible mound building.

12.01.2022 Seaside Cottage is situated in Mackay's tropical suburb of Bucasia. The home is nestled among tall native trees in a quiet residential neighbourhood. It is just a 5 minute walk away from picturesque Bucasia Beach and its parklands. A bus stop is located 150 meters down the road. Supermarkets and shops are just 5km away. Seaside Cottage suits couples and families with children, or could be a homely stay for business people.... Well behaved furry friends are welcome in the fenced yard. See more

12.01.2022 Our Austrian visitors were greeted by this Flatback turtle on their first night at Seaside Cottage. They even got to watch her laying her eggs. Turtle conservation volunteers had to relocate the eggs because mama turtle chose the public walkway as her nesting ground. (Btw relocation does not harm the eggs)

03.01.2022 The house is spacious with high ceilings in lounge and dining room. A 55inch smart TV is in the lounge. Free WIFI. The kitchen is well equipped with various appliances. Coffee/tea and light breakfast options are supplied. 2 bedrooms and the lounge are airconditioned.... There is a shaded outdoor setting and BBQ in the back garden for those who enjoy their meals al fresco. High chair, cot and stroller are available for those with young children. Shaded 2 bay parking on the property Bucasia is a leafy, older suburb with quiet streets and tropical gardens. An early morning or sunset stroll on our beautiful beach is a must. Take your sundowners & nibbles down to the beach for a beautiful end to a day. If you are lucky you might even spot a turtle laying its eggs or a hatchling running to the water. Birds love the tropical garden and a birdbath and feeder always attracts our beautiful native species. A small possum feeding platform is frequented by these nocturnal creatures, who like to check what delicious piece of fruit our guest have left out for them.
