23.01.2022 #marketresearch #whatdoyouneedhelpwith Happy Friday my fellow business owners! Quick question. Background: I'm doing some market research and re-evaluating which of my services and packages best serve small business owners in the Top End. I'd love to hear your thoughts. ... What do you struggle with MOST when it comes to marketing / producing written content for your business? Are you lacking a clear marketing strategy? Or do you just need someone to implement it? Do you need better systems so you can produce more regular content? Do SEO and Google search results give you a headache? Wish you could give your mailing list some more love? Are you too busy actually running your business to even think about writing copy for your website or socials? Are your profiles on Google My Business, LinkedIn, Facebook, Trip Advisor etc inconsistent or looking a bit shabby? If you had access to a local marketing-geek/word-nerd who could help reduce your stress levels around this type of stuff, what tasks would be at the top of your list? (It might be a one off thing or an ongoing service.) Please tell me, what do you most need help with?

19.01.2022 Note to self: Don't film any more videos while cooking tea. What I'm trying to say (over the sound of chicken sizzling in the background) is that you (and I) need to stop waiting for ALL our ducks to be in a row before taking the plunge in business. I mean, have a look over here. I've been writing other people's website copy for over 5 years, yet I STILL don't have a website of my own. (Yesss, it's on my to-do list!) Worse still, I was using THAT as an excuse for not putting ...myself out there publicly as 'open for business'. I was worried that no one would work with a copywriter who 'doesn't even have a website'. And yet, they do. Because they know I'm good at what I do. And while I know that I DO need a website, I shouldn't let the fact that I don't have everything 'perfect' stop me from operating. Sometimes we just need to get out of our own way and HAVE A GO. What's the worst that could happen? We learn from our mistakes and we try again.
