24.01.2022 To everyone that donated I want to say a very special thank you! You are all giving me faith for the future of our amazing and unique fauna! xo https://www.gofundme.com/f/koala-habitat-and-bushfire-resea
21.01.2022 #Thankyou to the vast network of #volunteer wildlife carers for their incredible contribution to supporting our spectacular #wildlife. Our great state is well k...nown for its diversity and abundance of native animals. Unfortunately, there are times when these animals may become sick, injured or orphaned and can't care for themselves. When this happens, they may require special treatment and rehabilitation from a trained wildlife carer or a vet. Our network of wildlife carers play an important role in the care and rehabilitation of sick and injured wildlife across #Queensland. Check out this great video that was put together by wildlife carer Amber Dahlberg (@wallaby_woman). Amber has dedicated most of her adult life to the rehabilitation of wildlife, and has spent the last 10 years caring for wildlife. She currently holds a rehabilitation permit, which is endorsed specifically for #raptors. She obtained a raptor endorsed permit because of the lack of qualified raptor specialists in the area. But as you can see from this video, she has been involved with the rehabilitation and release of many mammals and marsupials. Amber works out of a 50 acre sanctuary on the foothills of the Atherton Tablelands. THANK YOU Amber, and all of the wonderful wildlife carers Remember, call the Wildlife Hotline to report sick or injured animals 1300 130 372. #qldenvironment #nationalvolunteerweek Volunteering Australia
21.01.2022 This post is addressed to the talented sewing ladies/men out there? Anyone would know how to sew wallabies pouches and would possibly like to donate some for a joey wallaby in care? This poor little girl's mama was run over a few days ago and this little girl is having a bit of diarrhoea from the stress most likely so we are constantly changing her pouch and are running low! We need pouches in 100% cotton jersey or cotton knit fabric, ideally new fabric and pale colour (to assess for any urine/defecation in pouch) and material should not shed lint or have loose treat! Here is a good link for it but there are tons more! Let me know if you are interested! Thanks in advance! http://wildcareaustraliainc.camp9.org//ERS%20-%20Joey%20Po
18.01.2022 Hi everyone! I will be placing an order tomorrow so if you need any medications renewed, now its the time! I may not place another one until early May as it is quieter for me too Thank you and stay safe! **Edit due to confusion amongst clients. This is addressed for clients with pets on chronic medications (e.g cardiac medication, behaviour meds, thyroid meds etc) only which I normally don't stock and order specially when requested. I always have vaccinations, microchips and ...other common meds on hands** ***Edit Edit please pm me if you need anything as this post is public. ***

13.01.2022 Hi everyone, I hope you are all well and wishing all the wonderful dads out there a lovely father's day! Sorry for this painfully long post. I've been wanting to post a few things about the business and why I do things certain ways etc for a while but I'm not one that really likes social media and I prefer not too much exposure. However, I have received some of the most awful words I ever been told last night from a lady I genuinely wanted to help and felt really compassiona...Continue reading

07.01.2022 Hey all! Just letting you all know I’m back in NQ for regular business!! NSW was nothing but heartbreaking but thanks so much to everyone that donated! 06.01.2022 Hi everyone! Hope you are well! As a mobile vet, one of my most important tool is a car. Unfortunately I had a little incident a few days back meaning I currently am limited with my transportation mode ;( I was hoping to have everything sorted by Friday (a new car) so I didn’t say anything beforehand to not make a fuss but it’s looking like everything will take longer than anticipated initially. I will do half a day on Friday am with my partner ‘s car and I will prioritise consults that cannot wait so let me know If you need me. Also, if you have questions/concerns, I will do everything I can to help you! Ill update this page when I’m back running in full swing! Thanks all!
05.01.2022 Our clients know we do not recommend for your dog to go to Daycare. Here are yet a few more reasons why. "Sometimes a tired/well-behaved dog is actually a sup...er-stressed-out-mentally-and-physically-exhausted dog." "I think day care is really good for only about 20% of the dog population.." "I do not like to see more than 15 dogs (even that can be too much for a lot of dogs) in a space." "Please, do not send your dog to day care 5 days/week." "They also should not be using aversive techniques like walking around squirting dogs with spray bottles, shaking coin-filled cans or making loud noises to manage the environment." We have not found a Daycare in Christchurch that ticks all the boxes even for those 20% of dogs that would possibly benefit from a really great Daycare.
03.01.2022 Where we sent our donations guys
03.01.2022 Hi all! I hope you are all well! I’ve been thinking a lot the last few days about where the donations would been the most important and my heart keeps telling me to donate to James Fitzgerald rather than a fluid pump which would only been used temporarily. I’ll briefly discuss his story and I think you will understand why. James owns a wildlife sanctuary called Two Thumbs Wildlife trust. He has been rehabilitating wildlife for many years as well as using the sanctuary for a ...safe release site for many types of wildlife including threatened species. Amongst them, the sanctuary was the home to an important population of koalas, for its numbers and characteristics. On January 4th, James, a volunteer fire fighter with the RFS, was working with his crew to try to prevent the advance of the Good Good bushfire (which had already taken 36,000 hectares of important koala land )while the fire burned through his sanctuary. Many koalas and other natives managed to be saved from this catastrophic event by James and his team but too many were lost. Sadly, on January 23, the aircraft C130 who was fighting the Good Good fire, crashed on James’s sanctuary and the flame and debris directly destroyed the sanctuary buildings and likely took the life of most koalas that had survived the first time the fire came through, as well as taking the life of many other wildlife inhabitants (please note there was already an active bushfire and the place would have probably been 100% burned despite the catastrophic crash). James also lost his home. Since, James, other carers and teams of volunteers have been rebuilding enclosures for injured wildlife as well as working hard to try to locate and save any form of life. Despite loosing everything, James is still standing and giving his all with the hope that one day, there will be again a koala population thriving. He is giving me hope for the future of the koalas and I want to give him hope too and show him that North Qld is behind him! That’s a resume of his story from a gofund me page his niece created https://www.gofundme.com/f/koala-habitat-and-bushfire-resea
03.01.2022 Happy Monday everyone! Stay safe!
