20.01.2022 We are thrilled to welcome back the talents of Wayne Nichols for Tropicon on July 2nd 2016! Wayne Nichols is an Australian comic book and storyboard Artist best known for his work in the American comic book industry illustrating titles for Marvel Comics, IDW Publishing & Dark Horse Comics such as (Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Falling Skies, The Avengers, Spiderman, Orphan Black, Incredible Hulk + heaps more) He will be flying back to Cairns next July signing Prints and Comics for you guys all weekend!

This years zombie walk will be run by 'Shay Bourne' from Your World My Lens Cairns who has helped on the sidelines for the past few years and is now taking the undead reigns... 17.01.2022 So Sugar City Con is planned to take place at the Mackay Showgrounds on 29th & 30th August. We organized a 'Cosplay Coach' last year that took 25 avid Cairns Cosplayers to Mackay for SCC 2014: http://www.cairnspost.com.au//cairns-cosplay-and-geek-cont We had an epic cosplay adventure together and it resulted in the conception of Tropicon. We would like to organize something similar to take anyone wanting to Head to Sugar city and meet guests like, video game developer Stev...e Stamatiadis, Farscape star Lani Tupu and the incredibly talented Paul Eiding who is most known for his role as Grandpa Max in Ben 10 and Perceptor in the original Transformers cartoon. He also has a big presence in the gaming world as the voice of Colonel Campbell in Metal Gear Solid, and has also been in games like StarCraft 2 and Skyrim. There will be heaps of other guests to meet at SCC, vendors and exhibitors to check out and activities like 'The Great Zombie Escape'. If you would be interested in coming along on a 4 day Cosplay Coach trip to Mackay leaving Cairns on 28th August and returning to Cairns on 31st then please message us with your contact details at [email protected]. Your ticket would include transport to and from the convention, your accommodation and your tickets to the convention. The trip would likely be $200 - $250 per ticket based on 25 people going. If more people are keen for an adventure then it would become cheaper

He's currently Writing and Drawing for The Simpsons and Futurama Comics (Published by Matt Groening's Bongo Comics). He is also the creator of his own comic series Itty Bitty Bunnies Dean will be at Tropicon all day Signing Comics and Prints, he will also be happy to draw you a caricature of how you would appear ... in a Simpsons comic or as a 'Head in a Jar' Futurama Style!
