25.01.2022 Continuing work in this pool area in Farrar. Paving and pool coping in travertine tiles will really modernise the space, and with a bed of tall, tropical Heliconias at one end, it will create a lovely poolside setting.
25.01.2022 Getting the garden edging in today and we roughed out the mulch. Just loving that mulch! Enjoy your Friday!
25.01.2022 It is so wonderful to be able to get out and about into some of our parks again! And this gorgeous, dry season weather is perfect! Enjoy your long weekend!
24.01.2022 Outside and in the garden on a Monday morning! Love it! Cleaning up weeds and unwanted plants, pruning and getting ready for planting small shade trees and shrubs, irrigation installation and finishing with mulch.
24.01.2022 Would you believe we are in the backyard of a home on the outskirts of the city? This lovely, large, green and tropical garden was a great place to spend a Saturday morning!
24.01.2022 We used granite bricks for the edging in this garden. The bricks are 400mm long x 200mm thick and 100mm high and give a formal look but with the natural element of stone, each piece with their own character.
23.01.2022 Travertine tiles used for the coping and paved area surrounding the pool and in the garden. They feel so good underfoot, look great and are beautiful to work with!
23.01.2022 Adding new plants and mulch to this leafy garden in Nightcliff today.
22.01.2022 Ever heard the saying You need to crack a few eggs to make an omelette ?!! We have an awesome new pool landscaping project underway. We will be paving in beautiful granite and creating gorgeous new garden beds with block edging. Firstly though, is the messy part! We had to excavate to prepare for the paving, re-run irrigation lines and install storm water drainage pipes. We love the rain, but it sure can be ugly!
21.01.2022 We have been busy preparing this front garden for new plants, irrigation, organic mulch and pathways to be constructed. We removed palms, did some stump grinding, dug out palm roots and removed a think layer of hot, gravel mulch that was covering the space.
20.01.2022 Started work in this beautiful tropical garden on Friday. We will be installing stone edging around the garden beds, including large pieces to be used for seating, and laying sandstone pavers in front of the wood-fired oven. Another fantastic working week ahead!
20.01.2022 We will remember them.
20.01.2022 Gardens surrounding the pool provide softness and life that contrast well with the structural elements in the landscape. The soil in this garden in Wagaman was beautiful to dig into and full of worms! This is the result of continually keeping the beds thickly mulched with organic mulches that have broken down to form rich layers of lovely, healthy garden soil that the plants will love!
20.01.2022 Getting some beautiful Tea Trees planted. They will grow to become a lovely street tree matching in with some others that have already been planted along this road.
19.01.2022 At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them. To all those who have served and those that serve our country today, and to their families, we thank you.

17.01.2022 Adding an extra watering zone to this irrigation system in a Wulagi garden. Keeping the valves in a tidy, above-ground location makes it much easier to work on!
17.01.2022 Busy week in several gardens- pruning, planting, fertilising, mulching and some rock work.
17.01.2022 Moving the rounded granite pieces into the garden. These will border the paved area providing a nice place to sit with family and friends around the pizza oven.
13.01.2022 What an awesome response to the NT Governments Home Improvement Scheme! We received so much interest in the Jobs Rescue and Recovery Package, quoting right up to the 5pm deadline yesterday! Looking forward to getting started on all these wonderful garden projects soon! #tropppgardens #thankyou #ntgovernment #jobsrescue #opportunities #landscapingdarwin #gardenersnt #inyourgarden #mygardenlife #darwinnt #palmerstonnt #darwinrural #mytopend #darwinlife #outdoorliving #plants #mulch #local #gardenedging #paving #irrigation #waterfeatures #gardenbeds #soil #northernterritory #territorygardens #loveworkinghere
13.01.2022 After removing the old paving and the rock in the garden beds, we started on the excavation to prepare the area for the new garden. It will include new plants, irrigation and lawn repairs, garden edging, organic mulch, steppers and concreting to finish off this beautiful pool area.
12.01.2022 Saturday is garden maintenance day!
11.01.2022 I don't think I could ever get sick of afternoon storms!
11.01.2022 Am very much enjoying the colour I see in our gardens each day!! Beautiful!
10.01.2022 I just love trees, and arent these beauties?! They have such perfect canopy shapes, and look at the shade they create! And do you need a green wall? Mast Trees do this so well. Today we removed some small, old and dying trees at a property in Howard Springs, to make way for a new tree project! #loveworkinghere
10.01.2022 Starting work on a garden in Jingili today, our first of the Home Improvement Scheme vouchers to be issued! We will be installing concrete block edging, planting a mix of tropicals to fill the spaces in the garden beds and finishing with a good layer of organic mulch!
10.01.2022 Looking forward to watching this Bellamack garden grow- new plantings of Liriope, Murraya 'Hip High', Croton, Frangipani, Alexander palm, Costus, Zamia, Tuckeroo trees and a Murraya hedge.
10.01.2022 Happy to see the back of this lot of garden waste! One down, two more to go and then we are left with a beautifully, tidy garden again! Love this!
09.01.2022 Saturday morning gardening in Humpty Doo.
08.01.2022 Checking in on the Zoysia turf we recently laid in Knuckey Lagoon. 10 days old.
07.01.2022 Working to clear out a drain that has silted up over the wet season.
07.01.2022 So happy to share pictures of this garden space in Rapid Creek that we recently landscaped. The family have already enjoyed an evening barbeque meal out under the trees on the new, sandstone paving. The rounded granite edging helped to provide extra seating and the path was finished in the smooth, Ord River pebble, so easy for bare feet to walk on. It was an absolute pleasure working in this garden- a garden we first worked on back in 2014! And watch this space, as there maybe more projects to come! Enjoy your weekend!
06.01.2022 So good to see the NT Government release details of their Home Improvement Scheme as part of their Jobs Rescue and Recovery Package today. The scheme will operate on a voucher system, with home owners receiving either: -a voucher worth up to $4,000 if they contribute at least $1,000 of their own money, or... -a voucher worth up to $6,000 if they contribute at least $2,000 of their own money. Customers will able to apply from Monday April 6th.
06.01.2022 Rolling out some new turf today and checking in on a lawn we did in March. Gardeners must be patient but the result is definitely worth the wait!
06.01.2022 The sunny day yesterday was great for digging! As part of a larger landscaping project in this garden, we installed drainage to help disperse the water that comes off the roof and had been directed into the back yard. The storm water will now make its way to the front through a slotted pipe underground.
06.01.2022 Mark is back on the excavator this week cleaning out a garden in Coconut Grove. The owner wanted to have the palms and all the overgrown plants in her front garden removed. There was a Triangle palm right on the fence and with some careful chainsaw work it was cut down. We even found a big, old tree stump under the surface, so without a stump grinder handy, Mark cut it back as far as he could with the chainsaw and broke it up with the machine. It won't be too long before the... remainder rots away! Native plants will be planted to encourage birds and insects into the garden, provide screening and create a lovely little spot for the owner of the garden to enjoy the outdoors! We were so lucky to already have an established Northern Milkwood tree in the garden. Absolutely beautiful! We also plan to leave space for some raised veggie beds and feature pot plants to be installed at a later date.
05.01.2022 Weeds! If our gardens are singing at this beautiful time of year, then the weeds are dancing! Have you seen this one in your yard? Commonly known as Coffee Bush. Likes to pop up in disturbed places and can grow to a small tree. Once it has seeded, it will come up everywhere, so you must get on top of it as early as you can and just keep going! Tell your neighbours too!
04.01.2022 Wishing everyone a very Happy Easter! Heres to new light, new beginnings, new opportunities and new life! Enjoy a beautiful day with family at home
04.01.2022 Delivery of our Natural Himalayan Sandstone pavers and we just love their natural finish. The light colour has an overall slight variation and the surface is smooth to touch while offering great slip resistance. Looking forward to getting these down!
02.01.2022 Working in an absolutely beautiful Rapid Creek garden this week. The lawn struggled in this area because of the shade from the lovely trees, so we are installing some sandstone paving. No more dirt and mud and uneven surfaces, this will be a fantastic spot for a table and seating for the family to enjoy.
02.01.2022 In one area of this garden, we excavated the garden beds to remove old stumps and roots, a couple of steel posts, rocks and concrete. We put in some block edging and filled the bed with lovely, garden blend soil and a nicely aged organic mulch, ready for planting into. In another area, we pulled up a sunken and damaged paved path, cleaned off and reused the pavers and reinstalled the path, with a slightly narrower shape to allow for a small lawn area to go in beside it.
02.01.2022 The new Zoysia turf is settling in well in this back yard. The area had been a little neglected but is now a fantastic space for some dry-season entertaining or relaxing.
01.01.2022 Lots of love to all the mums everywhere xx #tropppgardens #mothersday #ourmums #love #sunday #mum #inthegarden #dryseason #darwin #northernterritory #palmerstonnt #darwinrural #mytopend #darwinnt #darwinlife #green #beautifulday #darwinstyle #mornings #outdoors #homeandgarden #mygardenlife #lovelivinghere #enjoy
01.01.2022 To all the women before me, the women of today and the women of tomorrow. xx
01.01.2022 This north facing garden receives alot of sun and the gravel mulch was producing too much radiant heat. We removed a third of the gravel (and underlying weedmat) and added garden blend soil, fertiliser and organic mulch to create a garden bed ready for planting. While we were there, we also spread forest mulch in other garden beds within the garden. We planted Tuckeroo trees for shade, Gardenia psidioides as a ground cover, a Euodia Gold Nugget hedge and interest plants of Xanthostemon Little Goldie, Murraya Icon Style-It and some Trachelospermum Tricolour is planted to fill the gaps in the large pots. As the plants grow, they will provide shade, and together, with the cooling green plants, will make a very lovely spot to be!
