After years of sweet tunes and spilt beers and soiled tofu the Botany Rd premises will be closing at the end of June. A new venture is in the pipeline so keep an eye on this page.... 21.01.2022 Hello, Chris McBurnie here. The last rehearsal just finished and the final dirty earplugs have been picked up off the floor. Forgive me if I sound like a wanker but I just want to say a couple of words. Firstly Id like to wish all the best to my business partners, Adam and Kitty, who will be continuing on in their Horsey ways at other premises. Good luck with everything dudes and thanks for putting up with me. I hope everyone keeps an eye out for their new ventures.... For me however its time to pack the old colostomy bag and move on. I arrived at Troy Horse on July 1st 1990 for a 6 month stint, and 26 years later Im still here. Damn, where did that time go. Id just like to thank everyone for the nice words said and written over the last couple of weeks. It has been over somewhat overwhelming, and perhaps too much focussed on myself. Troy Horse has been a team effort. I have been incredibly lucky to work with some awesome humans. They are a crazy bunch of amazingly marvellous misfits and it has been a pleasure serving with them. Thanks muchly. I know I shouldnt single anyone out but Im a bastard so I will (plus I think all other employees will understand). This place wouldnt have lasted as long as it did without the quietly excellent essence of Emma Talbot, who first skateboarded here for work experience in 1997 with a Tamagotchi in her hand and MMMBop in her heart. Her brilliance was obvious from the start. Emma, thanks so much for all you have brought to the Horse, for your incredible patience and for helping me keep my shit together. Everyone should buy Emma a beer. Troy Horse started as a Co-Op, and to me it always had that Co-Op feel. It has been the bands that made Troy Horse. We have been so lucky to have a loyal and way-cool customer base. Its been exciting to watch all of you develop from first rehearsal to last, and mind boggling to think of the thousands and thousands of songs that would have been written here. Playing and writing music should be fun and I hope its been a positive experience. It has been an absolute privilege to know you and the friendships made will be treasured forever. And finally, to all those people who Ive offended with my ads, t-shirts, stickers, practical jokes and suspect hijinx, I wish I could have my time over and piss you off again. Thanks so so much. The Warrior Playboy suffered a horrendous "bindi in the right calf" injury when sliding on the turf during Game One in Melbourne. Feared that it may have been career ending, Yee puts his miraculous recovery down to a mid season visit to noted mystic Matt "Magic Hands" Galvin who worked overtime on the beautiful leg. "Its been a tough couple of months," said Yee, "The injury did leave a physical scar on my beautiful leg that some sweet inkwork has managed to cover, but its the mental scars that will be difficult to overcome.
