25.01.2022 During the pandemic, parts of the WA freight industry have experienced a huge surge in demand, while others have seen business drop off. To manage the imbalance..., and to help keep truckies in jobs, a Driver Exchange Program has now started. This is an excellent initiative of the Freight and Logistics Council of WA and Western Roads Federation, with support from Main Roads Western Australia. The freight industry has been absolutely crucial to WAs response to the pandemic. The program will allow transport companies to temporarily exchange drivers, where the driver will take leave without pay with the parent company to be employed on a casual basis with the host company.
