23.01.2022 Riding in Tasmania offers dramatically different scenery, from stunning coastlines to heritage rainforests and stark landscapes on the high plateaus. But perhaps the best thing about riding here is the courteous drivers who respect the 1.5m rule #discovertasmania #eastcoast #westcoast #centralplateau #dreamitliveitrideit

23.01.2022 The food here in Tasmania is nothing less than exceptional, with many of our guests blown away by the quality. We are often told that the restaurants we use are an absolute highlight of our tours which is no accident because we choose them carefully for their consistently high standards and friendly Tasmanian hospitality. We will feature a few examples over the next few days #discovertasmania #eatsleepriderepeat #ridewineanddine #dreamitliveitrideit #foodies #cyclingtours

22.01.2022 Three days until our one of our annual Lap of the Map tours begins. 8 days of riding around Tasmania from Launceston to Devonport via St Helens, Swansea, Hobart (including an appointment with Mt Wellington), Strahan and Cradle Mountain. You don't know how good the riding is until you come and see it for yourself. The riding, the food, the friendly locals and the great crew who support you with every turn of the pedals. Contact us to arrange a private tour for a couple or a group on either our 4 star or budget holiday on your bike. www.velotours.com.au/tasmania

21.01.2022 Lap of the Map of Tasmania tour kicked off yesterday with pick up from the Launceston Airport. We arrived at the hotel and got straight into putting the bikes ...together (after a glass from the welcome bottle of Devil's Corner Bubbly) ready for the ride to St Helens the next morning. We all enjoyed a pre dinner drink in the hotel bar before heading to The Terrace Restaurant at Launceston Country Club for an amazing 3 course dinner where Kerry provided options for the ride tomorrow. The weather on the ride was great with a nice tail wind pushing us all the way to our accommodation and a well earned beer on the deck. Great effort today by everyone. Lots of smiling faces on arrival at the hotel and all looking forward to another great dinner and good a nights' sleep. St Helens to Swansea tomorrow with a diversion up to Wineglass Bay and lunch at Devil's Corner Winery #discovertasmania #everythinglooksbetteronabike #121kmdoneanddusted #DreamitLiveitRideit See more

13.01.2022 So we’ve had a big couple of days since riding to Swansea. Day 4 was the ride along my favourite stretch of road from Swansea to Orford, where a couple of the ...crew pulled up stumps after a coffee to save the legs for Mt Wellington the following day. A few rode a little further to Buckland and some rode all the way through to lunch in Richmond. We had a nice meal in the garden Czegs' Cafe and then everyone had a walk around the cute little township before transferring to our hotel in Hobart for the next 2 nights. Dinner at one of our all time favourites Rockwall Bar and Grill was amazing as usual then the next morning, day 5, a few took the challenge of riding up the misty Mt Wellington; a ‘cool’ but calm 22km from our hotel. Once back at the hotel we all sat down for a big breakfast and then everyone went off site seeing for the rest of the afternoon before meeting for drinks at the Atrium Bar and a sensational dinner Drunken Admiral. This morning for day 6 we transferred to Derwent Bridge for the 86km scenic ride to Queenstown via heritage rain forest (with lots and lots of bees) en route to Strahan. Conditions were difficult with a headwind most of the way and gale force winds on top of the final climb before Queenstown. We all jumped into the van instead of descending in the dangerous crosswinds and are now all checked into our hotel and looking forward to the buffet seafood dinner tonight View 42. Fantastic effort by everyone today. Not an easy ride by anyone’s standards. Tomorrow is Strahan to Cradle Mountain. See more

10.01.2022 Nice easy ride to Hadspen on day 1 just to test our set ups ready for the big ride over to St Helens in the morning. One flat tyre had Stubbsy actually working ...before heading back to shower for another stunning 3 course table d’hote menu at The Terrace Restaurant for our welcome dinner. Everyone is tucked up in bed ready for their big day tomorrow #truetasmania #entallyhouse #discovertasmania See more

05.01.2022 With all of us grounded and isolating for the next few weeks, we thought we would post some photos of the places we ride here to help lift our spirits and keep our eyes focused on the future. This situation is not forever and there are so many beautiful places around the world to ride your bike once we get through this and out the other side, even here in our own backyard #letsputourhappypantson #discovertasmania #keepsmiling #weareinthistogether #dreamitliveitrideit

05.01.2022 Not a bad place to stop for a coffee on our ride to Freycinet from St Helens

05.01.2022 Another location in Tasmania where the coastal scenery is as good as any you will see in Europe is the road between Swansea and Orford on the picturesque east coast #myhappyplace #discovertasmania #fromtheseatofabike #cyclingtour #dreamitliveitrideit

03.01.2022 Tasmania’s wineries offer stunning views and picturesque settings while you relax and enjoy a delicious lunch after a great day of riding. Chef prepared dishes, anti pesto and cheese platters, fresh seafood and wood fired pizzas are just a few of the menu choices available, all accompanied by top quality wines at Josef Chromy Wines and Devil's Corner Cellar Door, just two of the lunch stops we frequent on tour #discovertasmania #ridewineanddine #dreamitliveitrideit #cyclingtours
