23.01.2022 TIPS FOR LAYING ROLL-ON TURF - PART 3 Pick a starting point to lay your border; the longest straight edge such as a fence or paved area is a great starting point. Continue to border your selected area before moving to in-fill the rest of the yard. Created by CLP Advertising & Promotional Services
23.01.2022 FAQ; CAN I INSTALL TURF IN WINTER? The short answer is YES you can, but you need to make sure you select a turf variety that is still active in cooler weather. We recommend our Sapphire and Kenda Kikuyu turf choices. 23.01.2022 BERYL ASKED: "HOW DO I STOP THE PARROTS DESTROYING MY LAWN"? One solution is to spread a small amount of slow-release granular fertiliser over your turf. This has multiple benefits; it will encourage maximum growth and repair, as well as act as a deterrent as the birds don't like the taste. Rotating through other deterrents can also be effective. A line of little flags that move in the wind over the lawn, or flashing lights like an amber-coloured beacon light can also help m...ove the parrots off your yard. Even if these deterrents don't work permanently, they can help deter birds for long enough for your lawn to repair through winter. Created by CLP Advertising & Promotional Services
23.01.2022 RETICULATION REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE TIP 4. A TIP FROM THE PRO'S Sprinklers can be hard to find once they have been turned off. To make your maintenance job easier, mark the sprinkler heads while they are on using small flags or coloured pegs. Created by CLP Advertising & Promotional Services
22.01.2022 WATERING TIPS FOR A STRESSED LAWN If your lawn is showing signs of stress (such as wilting and discolouration), you will need to give it a good 10mm of water per day until the colour comes back. This may mean watering by hand on off-roster days. Treat dry spots with products like BI-AGRA or Eco-Wet that have a combination of wetting agents and moisture-retaining aids to help with water uptake. 21.01.2022 TIPS FOR LAYING ROLL-ON TURF - PART 1 As soon as your turf arrives, remove the plastic wrapping to avoid heat stress on the grass. If you aren't laying it straight away, store your turf rolls in the shade and keep them moist. We advise laying your turf within 24 hours of delivery. 19.01.2022 FAQ; BUT WON'T MY LAWN AND GARDENS DIE IF I TURN OFF THE SPRINKLERS? Winter's cooler temperatures bring lower evaporation rates, which means our gardens don’t need as much extra water. Most lawns also go dormant over the cool season, so rainfall should be enough to keep them thriving. If you have a question on lawn or garden maintenance, check out the info on our website or call us on 08 9754 8873 - we are always here to help.
17.01.2022 SOIL IMPROVEMENT / SITE PREPARATION: PART 2 Once the area is cleared, it is time to evaluate your soil type. Sandy soils can be improved by mixing in Turf Foundation and/or True Blue Turf Water Saver. Heavy clay soils can be improved by adding large quantities of organic product, and possibly gypsum. Never mix just sand and clay. Aim to build your soil up to at least 150-200mm deep and keep it at a minimum of 30mm below pathways or driveways. Level off the soil with a rake; t...he prepared base must be firm enough to walk on without sinking into the surface. 17.01.2022 MOWER MAINTENANCE: CLEAN YOUR LAWN MOWER Turn your mower over on its side (ensure the petrol tank is empty first) and sweep down then hose underneath to remove debris. You may need to use warm soapy water and a brush to dislodge anything that is stuck. Cleaning your mower will help reduce spreading plant disease and ensure your machine runs smoother. We recommend you wear protective gloves if cleaning by hand while the blades are still attached. 16.01.2022 RETICULATION REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE TIP 3. TURN IT ON AND TAKE NOTE: WATER POOLING? Are there areas of very heavy water flow or puddling? 16.01.2022 TIPS FOR LAYING ROLL-ON TURF - PART 6 Roll the turf out, making sure all edges are butted tightly together - with no overlapping. 11.01.2022 SOIL IMPROVEMENT / SITE PREPARATION: PART 3 Use a tape measure to accurately measure for your turf order, then add 5% extra to allow for off-cuts. Before your turf arrives, you will need to contact your local water authority or supplier regarding exemptions or restrictions (refer to Watering Guide). Place the order for your chosen turf and turf starter fertiliser (pelletised chicken manure) at least two days before installation. Water the prepared area 24 hours before your tu...rf arrives to settle the soil and provide a moist base. If you have any queries on what the right products are for you, or how to measure correctly, give our team a call. 11.01.2022 WE GRASS Turf provides you and your family a host of safety benefits; it provides a barrier against fire, and some insects and rodents won't cross large areas of grass either. Soft turf offers a safe play area for sports and general play, reducing damage to our bodies over time. Created by @clpadvertisingsw
11.01.2022 FAQ; HOW LONG WILL THE GRASS KEEP BEFORE I NEED TO INSTALL IT? While the weather is a little cooler, rolled grass will keep for 1-2 days. However, as the weather gets warmer and we move into summer, we recommend no longer than 24hrs if it is kept in the shade. Created by @clpadvertisingsw

05.01.2022 WATERING TIP FOR SHADED AREAS Rotting is often the result of too much water and not enough sun. To prevent turf rotting in low sunlight areas, reduce watering to 10mm once every second day after the first 10 days (in all seasons). NOTE: If you are establishing a lawn or garden, you must apply for a water exemption. This will allow you to water on enough days to establish your lawn and garden. Please refer to our watering guide for more information, or contact the team at True Blue Turf for advice. https://trueblueturf.myshopify.com/pages/watering-guide Created by @clpadvertisingsw

05.01.2022 KIKUYU (PENNISETUM CLANDESTINUM) Here is a popular variety of lawn for both domestic and commercial use due to its affordable price and excellent durability. Kikuyu maintains its colour well in most conditions and makes an especially good lawn on large areas due to its high wearability, ability to recuperate, and high thatching tendency. Kikuyu is the common choice for parks, ovals and reserves. To learn more about our turf varieties, click here: https://trueblueturf.myshopify.com//natura/products/kikuyu Created by @clpadvertisingsw
03.01.2022 RETICULATION REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE TIP 2. TURN IT ON AND TAKE NOTE: ARE THEY SPRAYING? Are any of your sprinkler heads not spraying correctly? 02.01.2022 NOW IS THE TIME FOR PRE-EMERGENT WEED CONTROL Apply pre-emergents before germination of seasonal weeds. For summer annuals, this is usually from early spring to summer (September to December). Embargo Herbicide works quickly on small-seeded plants as they take up greater amounts of the herbicide as they germinate in the top layer of soil. Warm season grasses may take more to get rid of, as their root systems are more complex and fibrous. To learn more click the link: https://bit.ly/2RgoruE Created by CLP Advertising & Promotional Services
01.01.2022 MOWER MAINTENANCE: CHECK THE SPARK PLUG The spark plug is important because without it, the combustion engine will not ignite (meaning your mower will not start!). If you see dirt or indicators of corrosion, remove the spark plug and spray it with brake cleaner, let it sit for a few minutes, then gently clean it with a wire brush. Once clean, gently buff the plug with a soft cloth. It is then ready to place back in your mower. If your mower still doesn't start after this treatment, it may be time to replace the spark plug altogether. Created by CLP Advertising & Promotional Services
