24.01.2022 You know what’s hard...training your weaknesses. You know what’s even harder...progressing without addressing your weaknesses! Enter the FLOATING DEADLIFT! Another cracker of a variation from @coachmarkcarroll The bar/plates don’t touch the ground through the set. Stand on some nice high plates to increase the range of motion. ... This variation is used as a muscle building exercise rather than a powerlifting 1RM exercise. The focus here is on leg drive to initiate the lift and allows the bar to be lowered to the usual bottom position without hitting the floor. When the bar hits the ground, muscle tension is lost. The floating deadlift gives greater time under tension and constant tension. The bottom position in a deadlift is where I’m the weakest so it needs to be strengthened! DO THE WORK!

22.01.2022 16 years ago I stayed a night in Tennant Creek and vowed never to stay here again. Now here I am holding back tears having to say goodbye after being a member of the community for 4 years. To say that I am sad to leave doesn’t even begin to describe how hard this has been for me. When I was a kid we moved around a lot and because of that I’ve always had a deep need to do the same as an adult. Whenever I’ve lived in any place for longer than a year or two, I start getting re...stless and look for a way out. But that hasn’t happened in TC, I’ve felt grounded and calm the whole time. I never would have thought that TC would be the place that would be the hardest to leave. I am a different person now to what I was when I first came to Tennant. I am a different mother, a different wife and a different trainer. I have grown as a person and I know that my clients have as well. I am leaving Tennant Creek but I am coming away with so much more than what I came here with. I am extremely thankful to have met every single person that I have had the pleasure to come into contact with. I am incredibly proud of the amazing progress that every single one of my clients has shown. I am overwhelmed that together we’ve created a fitness community that cheers each other on instead of judging and tearing each other down. I am grateful that I was able to help so many people both physically and emotionally. I am glad that we were able to bring a group of people together that otherwise would have never even had a conversation. I am relieved knowing that I’ll leave here having taught people correct exercise technique so people can get the most out of their body injury free. I am proud of the sense of community that I have worked so hard to create. I will be forever grateful for my time in Tennant Creek and can only hope that I have left a lingering love of fitness. I am extremely proud of the business that I have worked so hard to create but I wouldn’t have been able to do it without my clients. The words just don’t seem to express enough of my gratitude but from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU. If you are ever in Darwin, get in touch with me so we can squat together.

15.01.2022 I am SO EXCITED to announce True Form Fitness’ very first 8 week at home challenge! This week is the last week of face to face group fitness classes in TC! But that doesn’t mean I’m going to let you guys lose all of that fitness that we’ve worked so hard for! Tennant Creek will have some new group fitness classes starting up at the end of November so until then I am going to keep you guys active! This challenge is all about great results, self-confidence, and personal growt...h. It is suitable for everyone, even if you have never exercised before. The 8 week challenge kicks off on Monday 28th September and has an absolute tonne of inclusions to get you active and fit in the lead up to summer. Challenge members will have access to a VIP community group to help keep each other accountable and keep in touch while you are doing your at home workouts. There will be 5 workouts each week with no 2 days the same. The workouts will be varied with no major equipment needed. Over the last few weeks, I have been working with a Nutritionist to be able to offer you guys meal plans to help take the hassle out of your daily nutrition. These meal plans are created with a macro split of p40/c30/f30 (protein, carbs, fats) to ensure you are getting in enough protein to help build that muscle. This exciting challenge comes complete with: Two styles of non-repetitive Meal Plans (to help you either lose weight or maintain) Food shopping lists Food swap lists 5 different workouts each week Access to the VIP community group 24/7 Access to me for any technique or nutrition help I know quite a few of you are on existing programs with me and have expressed an interest in meal plans so I am going to be selling the meal plan separately as well. 14.01.2022 I am so proud of this woman! Today was my last PT session in Tennant Creek and Frankie rose to the occasion and delivered; PB after PB! This set of squats the focus was on the depth. The set before this one Frankie’s squat was a long way off being parallel. We paused, did a quick mobility hack and immediately after BAM! Hip crease below the knee! What does this mean? The deeper you squat the harder it is to get back up so more of Frankie’s quads and glutes are being recru...ited which will lead to more strength and muscle gain. Now that we have the depth, the goal will be to get stronger in the bottom position of that squat. If that wasn’t enough of an accomplishment, she also smashed another 3 PB’s today! Bench Press 2 weeks ago: 32.5kgs Bench Press today: 37.5kgs Stiff Leg Deadlift 1 week ago: 55kgs Stiff Leg Deadlift today: 60kgs Hip Thrust 1 week ago: 55kgs Hip Thrust today: 80kgs All with no technical breakdown! I’m so proud of all of the effort she’s put in and I can’t wait to see what she does next! WELL DONE FRANKIE!
13.01.2022 100KG DEADLIFT! A huge congratulations to Helen on joining the 100kg deadlift club yesterday! For the last 4 months I have worked with Helen to focus on building her strength. She has been consistent and has trusted the process as well as my programming. There have been times I’ve asked her to reduce the weight on the bar to focus on nailing perfect technique. Everything I’ve asked of her she’s done. And even though at times it can be frustrating; her results speak for th...emselves. She’s not wearing a weightlifting belt because she doesn’t need to. She has trained hard enough with great form to have sufficient intra-abdominal pressure to support the 100kg deadlift without the lower back taking over. Her technique is perfect, her strength is impressive and her commitment and consistency plays a huge part! Well done Helen!!! Trust the process. Trust the programming. Trust me. 06.01.2022 You won’t be able to keep your motivational cup full all the time. You have to come up with strategies, tactics and habits to keep you going no matter what. It doesn’t matter if you don’t want to do it or if you’re not motivated, you’ve just got to do it. If you expect to always be motivated then you will not follow through. Because as soon as you’re not, you’re going to have a justification and an excuse to not follow through. ... Most of the time you’re just going to have to do it especially when you don’t want to. Training doesn’t require motivation. It requires effort and consistency. It’s up to you to show up every day and put in the effort. This is how you get results. If you need help with your consistency, effort or programming get in touch with me. I have some online training spots opening up. This is a 4 week in app program which you can do at home or at the gym. It includes: Personalised macros and check ins. Core and or booty band finishers. App access to track your training and calories. Educational demo videos created by me. Ongoing support and accountability. This is all done online, so it doesn’t matter where in the world you are.
