23.01.2022 Fishtail Palm and blue skies at the nursery. This Caryota maxima is native to the central and eastern Himalayas, up to 2400m asl. A cold hardy, fast growing large palm with beautiful foliage.

10.01.2022 Landscapers, builders and developers are often on the lookout for advanced palms, to make that instant impact. Not surprising that our super-sized mature Chamaerops humilis in 750 litre bags sold out in a hurry. We’re expecting more in the next couple of months. In the meantime, we have these slow growing hardy beauties in smaller sizes, too.

03.01.2022 Week 11 winner of our MY PALMS pic contest is Alvin Rendell. This Dypsis decipiens is my favourite palm ever. So cold and heat resistant, plus beautiful! Planted back in 2008, Alvin made sure it had ideal growing conditions. It needed perfect drainage, so I dug a large pit , removed the heavy clay soil and replaced it with my sandy palm mix. This palm needs very exposed conditions to get the strong blue and red colours. The crownshaft is covered in white wax. Grows slowly, but really worth the wait.
