25.01.2022 These took forever to grow but they are finally on the tables at the Cable Beach clubs Italian restaurant Cichetti. Never thought of basil as an ornamental until now.

24.01.2022 Basil! Makes up in flavour what it lacks in size. This is genovese but we also have Thai basil which also has a lot of flavour.

24.01.2022 Hi all. Weve all had lots of unpleasant changes lately, so True Leaf Farm is doing our little bit- growing food by aquaponics. Now that the restaurants have closed we can focus on growing leafy greens and herbs for BROOME households. We still have Microgreens for anyone that wants them. We also have some seedlings for you to take home and grow your own. Its almost perfect time so get your beds ready! Id like to think of this time as an opportunity to create the food system we want, for us and a local economy. So dont panic. There is plenty. $5 pot. Let me know what you want and Ill leave them out for you in the fresh air or you can have a look at the shade house and help yourself. Stay safe, eat well and garden.

24.01.2022 No filter just naturally beautiful colour from the Purple Sango leaf radish. These have just come out of of a few days of blackout. Thats not mould but tiny white root hairs. Sign of perfect health! these Microgreens are heading to Bali Hai so be sure to check out their menu.

24.01.2022 All seedlings are at Mitre 10 atm. More on the way. Sit tight and keep gardening.

23.01.2022 Were selling MIZUNA in fully compostable biodegradable 8 cm diameter jiffy pots. You can continue to grow in a cup inside or plant pot in the garden Or cut and garnish. Multiple plants per pot. Fairbanks seed. 20 pots available. Other verities available. Text or message True Leaf Farm for address. Enjoy!

23.01.2022 New system. Working so far.

23.01.2022 Some weeks just work! this must be the best Friday’s orders ever. Everything looks amazing. Everything worked. So chuffed.

22.01.2022 Wondering what Red Shiso is? Its a common Asian herb, also known as Perilla. This variety has a pale green stem, and pointed oval shaped purple leaf. Excellent as a micro herb for use as a garnish. Red Shiso has an aniseed flavour and is slightly less spicy than the green variety. At True Leaf we sell this verity as a microgreen, seedling and (soon to be) cut loose leaf.

21.01.2022 Cracked it! I really should wait till its in the restaurant kitchen but its my best Amaranth crop yet.... and the fastest. It likes the heat. Not sure I feel the same. Ive been following #onthegrow and learnt a lot from their videos. So thank you all those micogrowers that pay attention to detail and are so generous with your knowledge! We got there.

20.01.2022 These took forever to grow but they are finally on the tables at the Cable Beach club’s Italian restaurant Cichetti. Never thought of basil as an ornamental until now.

20.01.2022 Basil is right for the picking. These babes will be replanted in another aquaponics system to grow to their full potential. Our soil seedlings are great for the garden but our aquaponics seedlings are perfect, and only work in aquaponics.

20.01.2022 Aquaponic vegetables sold at a fish and chip shop! What an amazing accomplishment. Not only running a restaurant but building and running the farm too. Really inspirational.

20.01.2022 Some snap shots of the growing process thus far. Love seeing these tiny seeds come out so colourful and with so much flavour!

19.01.2022 Few new verities: Amaranth, orach, kale, and purple fire basil with some oldies but goodies.

18.01.2022 Rainbow of Greens

18.01.2022 More seedlings available. They are smaller but because of the jiffy pots you can plant them now and theyll do great. Now is the perfect time to get those veggies in the garden! https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/207909837099449/

16.01.2022 My brother shared this today. Thought it might be interesting for those that dont know much about hydroponics or those that like me had a misconception that hydro was only large scale industrial agriculture. This is great example of how in some situations, hydro can save water and grow food harsh places. https://www.instagram.com/tv/CDeStSHIOIP/

15.01.2022 Leafy greens are now available. Contact us or fresco for delivery. See shop for details.

14.01.2022 Why Microgreens? Here is a great way to find health benefits of your favourite Microgreens or to find your new favourite Microgreen! It also has the taste description of each of them. This is the list of what we have available. All Microgreens are grown to order so there is 7-10 wait till they grow. https://www.microveggy.com/types-of-microgreens/

14.01.2022 SPARE PRODUCE: I had such an excellent week of Microgreens that I have 2 trays spare. 1 sango and 1 pink stem...And they are perfect. You can chop them and keep them in a container in your fridge for 5-7 days. Perfect to add to almost any meal, meat or salads. Incredibly Delicious and healthy. $18 a tray delivered. Hate for them to be wasted. Call me if you’d like one.

14.01.2022 Pandan for the long table at shinju. Thanks to generous neighbours we were able to source some in locally. Thanks Ben and Anna, IOU.

11.01.2022 Getting organised today. Microgreens is a bit of a process. Different verities have different amounts of time in various stages of germination, blackout and growing before harvest. Calculating them so they dont get black spot or mould and making sure they are ready for the restaurants is so important. The new trays will make it easier to play Tetris with these babies.

07.01.2022 Loose leaf mix.... just add a simple dressing. Salad done.

06.01.2022 I have Red Garnet Amaranth and Genovese basil Microgreens in pots for those that ordered them. For those that didnt but would like to try, I have spares. They will be ready to harvest in a few days.

06.01.2022 How beautiful is this orach? There is always one rogue green one. This is our first time to grow this radiant purple spinach micro herb. Orach is the original spinach. Somewhere in the 17thC it became unpopular compared to the silverbeets of today. I recon it’s time for a come back!

05.01.2022 How beautiful is this cool change? and with it comes.......coriander. No joke, it will now germinate. Here is proof. Here is a sneaky little trick for those that love this herb. DONT BUY CORIANDER SEEDLINGS. There is no need and it really only can be harvested once or twice so grow your own. Cant get seed? Try Fongs. Black it out for ages. Up to two weeks and cut it before it bolts. This way you can have fresh lush coriander all dry season. Enjoy!

03.01.2022 Green Shiso- otherwise known as Perilla grows beautifully in the aquaponics system using our own special method. It has the most amazing taste and broad lush leaves.

03.01.2022 Green Shiso- otherwise known as Perilla grows beautifully in the aquaponics system using the slab culture method. It has the most amazing taste and broad lush leaves.
