24.01.2022 I think I am in love!!! Total dude doing it for his Mumma... what a champ!

24.01.2022 Tug-of-war, controversial amongst trainers, but what about me? I play, and I lose, quite a bit! Do you play tug with your pups? ... My reasons for playing and letting Grace win, keep an eye out for my next post!

24.01.2022 Tug of war. My goal with my dogs is for them to live the best life possible. From diet , to exercise, to their inclusion in our lives. When I play tug with Grace, she goes hard, really hard. She pulls and growls and strains her heart out, and yet, when she wins, she comes straight back. Smile on her face, toy dangling from her mouth, she prances straight back and pushes the toy into my leg, asking for me to play again.... The toy is not the game, I am. When the game begins and ends with you, your dog will work harder, try harder for you. She is loves to work because it's a game, with her partner, me. Because her partner sets her up to win. Because she is confident from winning tug, she trys harder to win when we work. Tug motivates, strengthens relationships and satisfys an instinctual drive in dogs. Game on!

23.01.2022 Hey team. Training postponed for 7 days due to snap lockdown. No excuses though, train hard, stay safe and see you in a week!...

23.01.2022 Bit of fun for a Saturday arvo... Anyone else's dog sleep like a weirdo??

23.01.2022 Larry Krohn is a phenomenal dog trainer and advocate. He has a fab youtube channel where he discusses training methods, equipment and canine behaviour. I really reccomend you check his channel out! A short, sweet lesson is the best kind. Easily retained and fun for your dog. Added bonus is you can do it anywhere, anytime.

22.01.2022 This weather has been great for cuddling up on the couch, but don't forget to take your pups out for a run. Boredom and excess energy creates problems for us and frustration for our dogs. If you are running short on time, flick me a message to discuss my dog walking services. A bit of rain doesn't scare me, and your dog will thank you for it!!

21.01.2022 When you try to take a sneaky cute pic of your pup having a nap... #busted! #cutepup #trainingishardwork #snifferdog

21.01.2022 Things are changing!!! Due to the current advice regarding COVID-19, I have decided that I can no longer offer at-home-training for my lovely doggy and human clients. I understand that this is frustrating, but I can not think of a way to be hands on as required and maintain health & safety as a priority for myself and clients.... However, I am able and willing to provide remote assistance, whether via skype or messenger video chat to give real time training advice and guidance. Pricing for these sessions will remain at current rates, with the benefit of not incurring travel charges!! All you will need is you, your dog, treats, leash and collar, and someone to film. We can self isolate and still kick goals! Don't let this uncertain time result in putting up with unwanted behaviour. I am still here to help in anyway possible. Love & health Sarah

21.01.2022 I've got a few spots available on Saturday for training sessions!

20.01.2022 Aaand we are back!! Lessons will commence from tomorrow at 8am. I will touch base today with everyone booked in for lessons in the next few days to confirm your spots. ... Thank you all for your patience and understanding. Please note: Don't forget your masks while you are on site, new rules state they must be worn.

20.01.2022 The sun is out and it looks like it is going to a be a beautiful week, perfect to get some training in! Here is Gracie having a ball finding me lemons. Training is fun to her, and it is all about the MOTIVATION! Find the motivation and you will find a dog that will train (play) all day

20.01.2022 Want to be able to let your dog off leash? Not sure where to start? Give me a call!

19.01.2022 Christmas and new year is such a fun time for the family, it is can be amazing for our pups too, lots of fun adventures to be had! It can be even better for training, with lots of opportunities throughout the day to work with your dog. If you want some help acclimatising a new dog to your lifestyle or perhaps teaching an existing family dog some new skills, take advantage of my reduced pricing, $75 for your initial consult and session, $50 for follow ups (plus travel).... Set your best friend up for success!

19.01.2022 The little things matter. A structured environment isn't for our sake, it's for the dog. We all love our dogs and want to shower them with cuddles, but firm boundaries are what really makes a dog feel safe. Let me know if you need some help setting up some more structure at home.

18.01.2022 Welcome to the family Oz! A little about this guy. Oz is a 3 year old Amstaf who was involved in a series of incidents that resulted in him being placed on the menacing dogs register.... While his previous owners were consulting me regarding starting intensive behaviour modification, tension towards him in the local community became overwhelming for his owners. They decided that for his safety, rehoming him would would be the best option. While fabulous with people and other dogs so far, he has a high prey drive which has been undirected to this point. He also has little to no obedience or self control. But hey, I love a challenge! In the 6 days he has been with us, he is learning to walk on leash without pulling, that jumping is not appropriate greeting behaviour, and is developing some regard for commands and structure in our home. I really emplore you to follow his journey so you can see that hard and fast rules, structure and training through reward and punishment can not only rehabilitate a dog like this, but can prevent your dog from ever being a contender for death row. #nobaddogs #TrueNatureDogTraining #lifeofoz #rulesandboundariesforthewin

18.01.2022 Have a dog that pulls on walks, tears up the house, digs holes, jumps on people, snatches food, won't come back when called? My goal with all training is to ensure that your relationship with your pup, is as amazing as possible!

17.01.2022 Big ups to the guys @signrevolution for spiffing up the Hilux. Give me a wave when you see me out and about!

17.01.2022 Here is some light comic relief for your Friday :)

14.01.2022 Breed matters!! While I am firmly against breed discrimination regarding legislation, there is no denying that breed plays a large part in deciding what dog to get and what training you do with them. For example, if you are love a prestine home, I generally wouldn't reccomend a dog with working line Lab in them. The love water, and the mud and mess that goes along with it. ... If you live a more sedate life and don't plan to train hard and often, a working line Border Collie or Kelpie is not the wisest choice. Choose wisely, for your sake and theirs. #TrueNatureDogTraining #workinglinesarenotforeveryone #waterislife

13.01.2022 #Graciebean the supervisor, making sure the new horse shelters are up to code. #topdog #hardtofindgoodhelp #TrueNatureDogTraining @ Mount Cottrell, Victoria

13.01.2022 Meet the team, part 2! I hope you all had a great week so far and are killing it with your training! You have probably noticed a second black face in most of my pictures, the loveable Grace! ... As the baby of the family, Grace is still learning the in's and out's of being calm in all situations, but she has such a joy for life that working with her is always a pleasure. We are exploring scent detection work together and having a hoot doing it. Some days are more successful than others, but that is dog training!! She is a high energy and sensitive dog, the complete opposite to Bear, so working with Grace has challenged me, alot! She has made me a better trainer, I have to be more accurate and consistent to get the best out of her. She LOOOOVES long walks and playing with other dogs so is a great training and walking companion for other energetic pups. Give us a call if you would like to learn how to start nose work with your dog or think your pup would love a play session with Grace!

12.01.2022 Some exciting news is coming!! And it may or may not involve boxes... #TrueNatureDogTraining #whataconundrum

12.01.2022 Thought for the weekend: Stop giving your dog what it wants, and start giving it what it needs.

12.01.2022 Ethical and appropriate correction: When your dog knows the correct behaviour to a given command and is in a stage of training to comply but is not, or when your dog is displaying socially inappropriate or dangerous behaviour. I am not opposed to correction, but it must be fair, it must be consistent and it must be at the right time and the right level.... Setting boundaries by using rewards AND corrections set your dog up to win.

11.01.2022 The caption reads 'cute', I watched 10 seconds and could only see danger. This dog is claiming the child, announcing his/her 'ownership' of the baby. This is incredibly dangerous to both the child and dog. This kind of behaviour can often be seen by dogs with their toys and food too. Unless addressed immediately, it almost always escalates and can result in injury.

10.01.2022 Life on the farm While Grace has a well established 'off switch' (!!!) old Oz has not learnt how to relax and wait. In fact, asking him to relax creates stress for him. We work on this daily and I am so proud of how far the wee man has come.... While he still has some tension, he is starting to try. And when he finds that relaxation, boy does he lean into it!!! @ Mount Cottrell, Victoria See more

03.01.2022 It's been a hectic few weeks, for those of you who don't know, Sarah is also a qualified equine coach. Yep, Jack of all trades!! She has been flat out with horse and dog clients while the weather has been fabulous! But is grateful for some rain bringing the temperature down a touch!!... We have 2 training spot available for this weekend, both on Saturday, 1pm and 4pm so get in quick before they book out!!

02.01.2022 Crate training is something that many of my clients have reservations or are completely disagreeable with initially. Crate training not only assists with emergency and travel situations, but also gives your dogs comfort and confidence in their home environment too. It is important to note though, that crate training must be done correctly to achieve complete relaxation in your dogs. ... I can show you how and why crate training is ESSENTIAL to dogs in our current lifestyle.

01.01.2022 Could I say 'umm' any more?? Lol Bit seriously, shoot me a message

01.01.2022 Ummm, all of the above!!
