17.01.2022 This great collaboration started in lockdown and developed in our Zoom virtual workshops. Hereis a little teaser for one of the songs for our Film Finding the Way Home- A Halloween Musical . Original lyrics and melody were created by Charlotte (9y.o) one of our incredible junior performers at True North Anglicare SA Elizabeth and the Music was Composed and Performed in this teaser by Tahlia one of our fantastic performer, resident musician, composer, writer and True North... Leaders. In this song came out of improvisations and writing exercises created in workshops based on a story developed and created by the Ensemble: A little ghost is lost in a forest and cant find its way home but in Halloween other kids can see the ghost and they think it is just another kid in disguise. 10.01.2022 Our Super Duper School Holiday Program is nearly here! Tuesday 6th & Wednesday 7th October 2020 for children aged 7-12 years in the Playford area. Come and join the kids at True North Youth Theatre Ensemble for our two-day program this school holidays! Tuesday 6th October Children will engage in an Introduction to Drama workshop and craft day to make Galaxy jars at the John McVeity Centre in Smithfield Plains from 2pm-4pm. Please leave child with a healthy drink and a sna...ck for the workshop Wednesday 7th October Children will be picked up by bus from the John McVeity centre at 10am and will partake in scavenger hunt at the Plympton Oval Playground. The children will then be transported to the Marion Cultural Centre where they will see magic show Micksters Magic Gadgets. Children will be dropped back off at the John McVeity centre at approx. 3.30pm by bus. Please leave child a healthy drink and snack for the day. This is a free program for City of Playford residents. Eight lucky young people aged 13-18 in the City of PAE will be offered a free placement in a program with True North Youth Theatre Ensemble and be part of creating a new online mini series about life in PAE. 01.01.2022 Wow, 4 years ago we took "A Kid Like Me" all the way from Adelaide to Canada In 2016 " A Kid Like Me" won the inaugural Arts South Australia People's Choice Ruby Award. Our Writer Sally Hardy & our Director Alirio Zavarce won the Australian Writers' Guild AWGIE for Youth & Community Theatre. A Kid Like Me premiered at the DreamBig Children's Festival in 2015 and represented Australia at the World Festival of Childrens Theatre in Stratford Canada in 2016. A huge shout ...out to ALL the Casts and to ALL the incredible young artists that collaborated( in one rehearsal or in many) during this Incredible Project and to all the amazing families and people that supported us and help us get there.
