23.01.2022 A reminder to all competitors entered in the tournament on Sunday that if you require any taping or strapping for a pre existing injury then you must have this done prior to your event commencing. First aiders on site are not allowed to strap injuries for you. You should also have medical clearance if you are over 45 years old and competing in Kumite or if you are competing with a pre existing injury requiring tape or strapping which must be presented to Kimberley Hymas on the tournament day. 20.01.2022 The Oceania Karate Federation has informed that the upcoming 2020 OKF Junior & Senior Karate Championships have been postponed because of the coronavirus outbre...ak. Due to the recent developments connected to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Executive Committee of the OKF has decided to postpone the continental championships until later in the year to a date still to be determined. The 2020 OKF Senior & Junior Championships was scheduled to be held in New Caledonia from June 12 to 14. The OKF took the decision to postpone the event following the guiding principle of the organisation to protect the safety and welfare of all the members of the Oceania Karate family.

15.01.2022 The Australian Karate Federation regrets to inform that the 2020 Australian Open Championships and 2020 Australasian Schools Age Championship has been postponed... in line with the advice provided by the Australian Government Department of Health. The AKF Executive Committee shares the disappointment of this decision with the entire Australian karate community. We will continue to monitor the evolving situation in relation to the impact of COVID-19 and will confirm the alternate date of the 2020 Australian Open as soon as possible.

03.01.2022 Hi all, AKFTas wishes to announce that, after careful consideration, we have decided to CANCEL the Tas State Titles & Rules Seminars scheduled to run this weekend. We understand this comes as disappointing news, however with the escalating Covid-19 situation, we have decided to err on the side of caution. All fee's paid for the Championships will be refunded. Athletes due to compete and State Squad members should have received an email this morning with more information. Thank you for your understanding and hope everyone is well.
