22.01.2022 ‘The Point Brisbane’, Kangaroo Point, Brisbane, Australia Date of visit - 21/10/20 (hotel inspection) A deluxe independent hotel with views towards the city.... Room with a view featured - the Altitude Suite (105sq.m). Top tip - the hotel's restaurant, Lamberts, ranks very highly amongst all of Brisbane's restaurants on TripAdvisor, on Google etc and their rooftop bar has expansive views of Brisbane. 14.01.2022 My room with a view was: an Ocean View Suite Premier at Hotel Nikko Bali, Benoa Beach, Bali, Indonesia. Date of stay: 17/03/19 Hotel Nikko Bali Benoa Beach... For those of us who like to escape hustle and bustle leaving behind the crowds on the west coast of Bali and heading east is just the ticket. You'll also be rewarded with gorgeous sunrises (and the sunsets aren't too shabby either!). Warm and friendly staff, a fabulous breakfast, absolute beach front and great views from my huge room (106 sq.m). During a site inspection I also got to check out the Ocean Front Rooftop Suite which was just incredible! (NB I was a guest of Hotel Nikko Bali Benoa Beach )

12.01.2022 I'll be inspecting this property early next year! Can't wait... #emporiumhotels

11.01.2022 ‘Stamford Plaza Brisbane’, Brisbane CBD, Australia Date of visit - 20/10/20 (hotel inspection) A prestigious hotel nestled on the bank of the Brisbane River next to the Botanic Gardens, where every room has a view. ... Room with a view featured - the Stamford Suite (aka the Presidential Suite), graced by a long list of famous guests over the decades. A huge 250 sq.m! (and the Diplomat Suite next door can be taken to give a 2 bedroom option!) Top tip - the hotel has superb pastry chefs and they do a fabulous high tea, set in The Brasserie marquee with the Brisbane River as a backdrop. Stamford Plaza Brisbane

04.01.2022 My room with a view was: Suite 17, Balfour Suites, Spicer's Balfour Hotel, New Farm, Queensland, Australia. Date of stay: 13/10/20 Spicers Balfour Hotel... Spicer's Balfour Hotel in New Farm, on the edge of Brisbane's CBD, is spread between 2 equally gorgeous heritage buildings - 'The Balfour', a refurbished Queenslander built in 1910,and 'Simla', built in 1921 as one of the first purpose-built flats in Brisbane. The Spicers team have done a really beautiful job restoring and furnishing both buildings, though, let's be honest, one would expect nothing less from Jude Turner and her team, who are reknowned for the Spicer's Retreats collection of properties. After checking in at The Balfour I was escorted by a very friendly and welcoming member of staff to our room for the night - Suite 17. My first reaction when I walked in was one of excitement, almost giddiness, which is what I always hope for when I first walk into a hotel room! The room felt luxurious and yet homely - I was probably a bit too eager to have a soak in the bath tub and go to bed as even just 'testing' the bed's comfort level made me instantly start unwinding and feeling rather sleepy! (My only complaint was that the bath robes are for much smaller guests than my husband and I so we couldn't take full advantage of the comprehensive comfort on offer). All of the rooms I had the chance to look around were lovely but Suite 17 is surely the best if for no other reason than it has its own secluded balcony opposite a rooftop garden and the hotel’s beehives, with views towards the city (although the very best views are to be had from the roof terrace bar at The Balfour, where you can watch the sun set behind the Storey Bridge as you look towards Brisbane’s ever-changing skyline). The on-site restaurant at The Balfour is also superb (I had a very tasty lunch there) and Spicer’s are known for their amazing cuisine (which they can deliver to your room if required. However, if you prefer eating out then there are easily a dozen restaurants within a 2-minute walk (on Brunswick Road) or you are just a couple of minutes to the Riverwalk that takes you down to Howard Smith Wharves and the city just beyond. Top tip! (or a word of warning?!) - the bed is extremely comfortable! So much so that you may want to replace your bed at home! Spicers must have been asked where they got their mattresses from many times as they have made them available to buy through #thathotelbed (NB we paid for our stay). #trustedhotelreviews #roomswithaview #spicers #Spicersretreats #spicersbalfour #brisbanehotels #luxuryhotels #luxuryhotelsirecommend
