25.01.2022 There are many stages that lead to children writing words. Every mark on paper is children building on these skills.

24.01.2022 As we prepare to head back to kinder (and school) next week, we thought this was a perfect time to share ideas for lunchboxes. At Melton West we encourage healthy lunchboxes filled with a rainbow of coloured fruit and vegetables. As we learn of allergies in each group we will notify families if any food that may need to be restricted for safety.

10.01.2022 Welcome back! Here we are at the beginning of Term 3. These are a few of the experiences that children will be returning to this week.

10.01.2022 Due to not being able to invite families into our kinder, we are going to be posting a series of videos over the next few weeks focussing on different parts of our kindergarten. Today's video is about our the online platform/app Storypark that we use for sharing stories, notes and planning.

09.01.2022 One of the items that is unique to Melton West Preschool is our fires. We will regularly have a small fire in which we will make damper, cook potatoes or just enjoy the smell of eucalyptus leaves burning in the fire. The children learn how to be safe around the fire, with our wooden stumps forming a ring around the fire for us to sit on. The children know and understand that they are not able to walk through the circle when the fire is going. And as you can imagine we have a staff member there at all times to remind children if they were to forget. This is also an area where we conduct our Acknowledgement of Country.
