25.01.2022 A huge thank you is in order for all the people involved with yesterday’s Dobinsons Spring & Suspension King Of The Strip 4x4 Drags at Central QLD Drag Racing Association - Benaraby Dragway. It was great to see a variety of different vehicles line up and have a crack. We managed to push our daily driven V6 Amarok into second place over all in the diesel class and in the first ever race outing for both car and driver. Our best ET for the day was 14.07 @ 94.64mph in street trim (minus a spare tyre). The car performed flawlessly all day and proved very consistent pass after pass. The F250 has a 7.3L Ford powerstroke which is getting an extensive amount of performance modifications and reliability work put into it to make touring around the country even more pleasurable. 09.01.2022 Intake clean or just tune it? It’s a question we get a lot, and the answer is usually both. If you have a brand new car it’s not going to need an intake clean, but even a VDJ with less then 80,000km will have a significant build up present which ultimately restricts the amount of air allowable into the engine. Less air, less fuel, less power which in turn means more stress to the engine trying to achieve even stock power. We recently had one of our loyal customers who has an ...07 ‘Work mate’ with less then 200,000km in for an intake clean. Regularly serviced, upgraded clutch and previously tuned by us a few years back (stock turbo and injectors). Pulling the intercooler off and looking at the intake all seems ok, but once you strip down and look at the internals it’s a very different story. Prior Preparation Prevents Poor Performance. We did a run on the dyno before and after our TSO ultrasonic intake clean. The difference the choked inlet made was 8.9kw and 50nm gain. No other changes were made to this vehicle for this gain. 07.01.2022 Evan's Triton came in for a bit of maintenance and a dyno tune. We ultrasonically cleaned his intake system, adjusted the valve clearances and measured up for a new HPD intercooler to be fitted soon. Then we ran it up on the dyno and gave it tune and it pushed out some solid gains.
