11.01.2022 Great results yesterday by every runner. So proud. Some great action shots.

10.01.2022 Only 5 days until the Queensland State Cross country championships at Ipswich. We have 24 athletes run personal bests yesterday at our 1500m time trial. The course was a little tougher yesterday as there were cricket games all around the complex so a decison was made for safety reasons. Also the gps watch was 50m out the run was 50m longer (10 sec -12 secs longer + ) so that make many athletes times so much better. We have 26 runners competing at the titles this week more than the Maroochydore and Sunshine Coast University clubs combined! The biggest squad on the coast with 3 coaches for their athletes. Thanks to all of the parents for their support yesterday! Well done to each and every runner.

10.01.2022 track training started last night at the cricket club. Hurdles, ladder runs and a speed session much shorter than cross country but still a very solid work out! Please read all the details on the QA website on how the event will run. There will be no check in you go straight to the starting line. After the event you will have to leave straight after the race. I will be at the event and will warm up athletes at Ipswich on September 5. About 10 weeks ago I was asked by a couple of senior athletes that they wished to be coached by me. So after 7 weeks of training and some track work one athlete Ben ran a 15.01 a massive personal best on the track and he also finished 3rd in the Gold Coast Virtual 5km event which ran from July 1-31 and he may have achieved a medals for one of the fastest University students in Australia for 5000m. Caleb the other athlete ran a 8:54 for 3000m a personal best by 41 seconds. So the training we are doing at TsquaD Running has really seeing great improvements by young athletes and older athletes. It is a great privilege to coach you all and support you in your personal goals and athletic dreams. We have coaches at every training session who are there to support our squad and we hope that you like the photos that we send you at training and at races. Our aim is to improve your running and train and work in a supportive environment.

It is the largest group of runners from the Sunshine Coast competing at this major event in cross country. Events range from 2km for 10 year olds to 8km for under 20’s. Maroochy have 5 athletes (plus 7 TsquaD Running athletes who are aligned with this club) and the University of the Sunshine Coast have 4 competing. Go T...squaD Runners! On Sunday we will be having our final 1500m time trial and it is a chance for some athletes to have a final short race and try and run a personal best. All year our athletes have been improving and gaining good speed. After the time trial we will do some tempo running which will be so easy and the last week all athletes should reduce their training to taper off for Saturday’s event. We will go through our warm up for next weekend’s event so everyone will be able to do their own at Ipswich. I will set up markers and folders for every athlete to follow as coaches are not allowed in the warm up area due to social distancing policies but we will be close at hand to assist our athletes. All athletes should wear their TsquaD Running singlets at this event as there are unfortunately no team medals for 2020. We have several runners in each event so we can cheer everyone on as the day progresses! Go TsquaD Running!

04.01.2022 It is official 11 athletes finished in the top 5 in the state Championships at Limestone Park on Saturday. There were 22 competitors on the day that raced over their set distances so that means 50% of our athletes who competed have made it to the nationals based on the top 6 getting selected in previous years. So many athletes ran personal bests and everyone was very satisfied with their efforts. Some shots of our athletes in action! Thanks to Simone and NIna for the pics!

04.01.2022 Due to the rain over the last 3 days todays training has been cancelled. The tracks we use are saturated so go for an easy 4-5 km easy run. Hitting the track this Wednesday and Thursday and then just over a week off until we start resume some track work on Wednesday September 30. The squad will officially end the season on Wednesday October 21. Training will be there to assist the aquathlon and triathlon events. It is also there to help athletes get ready for the Queensland Athletics and Little athletics season as well. All runners are welcome to still train up until then. TsquaD Running will resume on Wednesday March 17, 2021.

02.01.2022 A big event on November 18 at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Keep training for the 3000m track event. It will be great racing and a chance to see some of the best runners on the coast and the state aiming to run very fast times. If you are not a runner come along and have a look at some great distance running. Also 100m sprints and 400m races as well.
