19.01.2022 RIP Andy Anderson - drummer for The Cure during their under appreciated / underrated 1984 album The Top, the first Cure release to build the bridge between their darker tendencies and their brilliant pop smarts. The album had it all - metal dirges (Give Me It, Shake Dog Shake) , bat shit crazy pop songs (Bananafish Bones, Birdmad Girl, The Caterpillar), epic psychedelica (Wailing Wall, The Top)... all powered along by Andy’s percussive pulse. It was the first proper Cure al...bum I owned (the live album Concert does or doesn’t count) and I love it still... it's a great listen He also cracked the tubs for Hawkwind, Iggy Pop, Peter Gabriel, Isaac Hayes, and many others... so he was no slouch Cheers Curt tssnht https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=omsnRGgl9mk
