She was beatified on 19 January, 1995, at Randwick Racecourse, Sydney, in a Mass celebrated by Pope John Paul II and canonised as Saint Mary of the Cross at a Mass celebrated by Pope Benedict XVI in St Peters Square in the Vatican on 17 October, 2010. He is the Parish Priest of the parishes of Mount Isa, Cloncurry and Julia Creek as well as being the Vicar General of the Diocese. Fr Shilbin is one of the four MCBS Priests in our Diocese. As expected, he has a soft spot for a particular sport popular in Australia.
